Biden stepping down - now what? (3 Viewers)

I say vote her in ahead of August 7th and avoid potential legal hurdles in Ohio.
Over 60% of people in Ohio fought to get reproductive rights on the ballot and then voted for it. I think it's a mistake to think Ohio is a lock for Trump.

Unless polls are showing Trump up by more than 20 points, Ohio is possibly in play. Maybe not enough to win, but enough to make Trump have to spend time and money there.

    Agreed.

Hey, there's a chance for you to speak from your heart, about the Donald. Duck.

Please go to the Harris vs Trump thead and write a nice thoughtful introduction for the Donald. Duck.

I'll later ask a moderator to merge my introductory post with yours, if you write one, together, so that every page our two merged posts lead each page. That would be fair.

If you don't want to do that, please build a fire under Farb to do it. Or someone else.

@DaveXA, could you deal with this fair thread introduction merge as I laid it out? Since the leading post shows up at the top of every page in the thread it would be fair for a thread like The General Election Thread, that both sides have that first post merged, thus that it introduces both sides. Fairly.

    I want fairness first.

Kelly makes the most sense to me, I think. Given that it won't be Manchin, who would you want outside of him?
Kelly actually makes sense unitil one looks at what is riding on the 2026 midterms. We'd get a Republican in the Senate from there for sure.

Allow Kamala and her staff to weigh this decision, and decide using the kind of information that she has, which we don't have.

She has professional polling unlike anything we've ever seen. News polls are snoose polls.

She has to work with whoever is chosen, allow her that decision.

Who do I want outside of him, what I just said, whoever she chooses will be fine with me.

You worry about 2026 later if he's the strongest VP. It's about winning the Presidency in 2024 first and foremost.
It's doubtful that the VP pick actually make much difference in an election. The Veepstakes is a joke. I treat it as a joke, ergo my choosing Manchin as my veepstakes pick.

She needs to pick who she wants to work with. That's first and foremost.

Someone she can work with is a given and considering how closely contested the 2016 and 2020 elections were.. anything around the margins including the VP pick could help make a difference.
