I feel like this deserves a separate topic.
What will be the plan for the DNC?
How will this all shake out?

Down to the formality
Over 60% of people in Ohio fought to get reproductive rights on the ballot and then voted for it. I think it's a mistake to think Ohio is a lock for Trump.I say vote her in ahead of August 7th and avoid potential legal hurdles in Ohio.

Unless polls are showing Trump up by more than 20 points, Ohio is possibly in play. Maybe not enough to win, but enough to make Trump have to spend time and money there.

Need a running mate first.I say vote her in ahead of August 7th and avoid potential legal hurdles in Ohio.
Needs a running mate first.
I understand that. I was just saying that they can't start voting until she names a running mate.Unfortunately that’ll have to be rushed. Per my last post, the party is planning to confirm prior to August 7th.

Hey, there's a chance for you to speak from your heart, about the Donald. Duck.Translation: I don't like our own rules being applied to us.
I told you in my two veepstakes posts that I want Manchin, which person do you want?Need a running mate first.

Kelly actually makes sense unitil one looks at what is riding on the 2026 midterms. We'd get a Republican in the Senate from there for sure.(Jumping in)
Kelly makes the most sense to me, I think. Given that it won't be Manchin, who would you want outside of him?
You worry about 2026 later if he's the strongest VP. It's about winning the Presidency in 2024 first and foremost.Kelly actually makes sense unitil one looks at what is riding on the 2026 midterms. We'd get a Republican in the Senate from there for sure.
It's doubtful that the VP pick actually make much difference in an election. The Veepstakes is a joke. I treat it as a joke, ergo my choosing Manchin as my veepstakes pick. You worry about 2026 later if he's the strongest VP. It's about winning the Presidency in 2024 first and foremost.
Someone she can work with is a given and considering how closely contested the 2016 and 2020 elections were.. anything around the margins including the VP pick could help make a difference. It's doubtful that the VP pick actually make much difference in an election. She needs to pick who she wants to work with. That's first and foremost.
