I don't fault the Democrats for doing what they did and had I been in their shoes I would have supported it because there aren't any good options.

I'm simply highlighting these actions by the Democrat party to show they are full of shirt when they talk about protecting democracy. You don't rig 3 straight primaries and not annoint Harris without having a single vote if you care about protecting democracy.

Protecting Democracy is nothing more than a campaign slogan.

I don't think you understand primaries/caucuses or conventions.

Biden wasn't the official candidate. That doesn't happen until the DNC. Party delegates are no longer bound to Biden. They have basically all become super delegates who can vote in the best interest of their state or party. Both state laws and past Supreme Court rulings give parties wide margin for selecting candidates. I'm not hearing Dems complaining about the process. It seems like only Republicans are complaining. Your shouts of hypocrisy seem to suggest Democrats support pure democracy. The existence of delegates and super delegates instead of a nation-wide popular vote shows this isn't the case. Both parties and the nation utilize representative democracy because it serves us well.

Patently false. Harris will receive the majority of the delegates’ votes, which is the normal way candidates are chosen. And get this, each delegate was most likely elected themselves by the people of their district - I know it’s that way in my state, what about yours?

So this point, if we could generously call it that, is just moot. It means nothing. Meanwhile you support a guy who actually tried to subvert the will of the people. Who refused to concede an election he clearly lost, and sent an angry mob to the Capitol where they interrupted the Electoral Vote counting and trashed the place, threatened police and injured over 140 of them.

If I supported the guy that did all that, the last thing I would ever do is call attention to my hypocrisy by pretending to care about the other party’s nomination process.

I'm all for it, but there's no way a Constitutional amendment is passing while Republicans have control of as many states as they do and the number of seats they have in the two chambers of Congress.

The only way to get the Electoral College repealed is to vote our way to enough control to pass a Constitutional amendment.

Yeah, from some other reporting I heard, this includes some big contributions though I don’t have the details.
