so someone who at one time, been at Crooks' home in the last year ( or more, not quite clear on the parameters ) had been at the Gallery Place Mall in DC? Could there have been a concert at Capital One Arena ( next door ) they were in town for?

Exactly. If the SS tells all, it would undermine their investigation. Some agents may need to be punished, and other issues may have to be dealt with, but that should happen after adequate investigation time has been given. At best these early hearings should be classified.

So you admit that the phone data, on it's own, doesn't prove anything...but then immediately jump to that being related to some kind of conspiracy? Better yet, that is not even ANYTHING that the USSS is responsible for knowing! That would be the responsibility of the federal government bureau that is investigating the shooter.

Secret Service crapped the sheets on this one. I don’t believe it was intentional but due to incompetence. The group with Trump have been with him for a while and reports are they are close. I doubt that his protection group would do that knowingly.

It is like the Crowdstrike outage last week. A lot of companies found out how incompetent their IT staff was because they had a lot of Disaster Recovery plans on paper but never implemented. Not that the staff were intentionally trying to sabotage their company but due to laziness and poor processes, they were utterly destroyed by the outage. I bring this up because I am in IT and I constantly rail on my team to not let this happen. Once we figured out what was going on, we were back online in 2 hours compared to other departments who were down all weekend.

I got no issue with that of they feel like they're not getting enough answers, but I wouldn't have expected any 10 days after the assassination attempt. 30 days and I'd feel differently. 10 days really isn't enough time to gather all of the facts.

Most likely everyone involved that day had until the end of day to provide a written account of events. Ten days is enough to review and generate some takeaways. She could have provided a status of the investigation. Sixty days is forever and there is no discussion of what immediate actions she is taking.

Heck, she could have answered “it’s not appropriate to discuss operational parameters in an open meeting.” At least that sounds better than unanswered questions.

Sure, but expecting a legitimate report 10 days after, especially when considering you have several agencies involved, is unreasonable imo. You also have to factor it's the FBI leading the investigation and not the USSS, so she would have to be sure anything she's saying doesn't cause issues with the FBI investigation. Certainly, you don't want to give an inaccurate assessment without sufficient context. That's just a bad idea all the way around.

I do agree on the last bit though. A classified briefing would be where that stuff can be hashed out, but I'd be nervous about that considering the behavior of some of the Congressional members in the hearing. Those idiots would leak like a sieve.

More heads probably will roll. We are 11 days in, and we have only been focused on the USSS. With the coming days we will probably see more USSS agents canned as well as the canning of Trump’s security detail. We also need to learn more about the LEOs part in all of this.

We are getting somewhere!
