Assassination attempt on Trump (1 Viewer)

I've only seen clips so far, but I haven't seen her answer one question that tells us anything more than what we have heard from media reports.

Comer cornered Cheatle when he asked about the Trump campaign's requests for additional security.

Cheatle jumped around the question and claimed that all security requests for the rally were met.

It shouldn't take more than 9 days for basic facts like

-how many SS were at the rally
-did the shooter use a drone hours before the rally
-when did SS know the guy had a range finder, was on the roof, was considered a threat
-who communicated with who and at what times about when the shooter was spotted, seen with a range finder, seen on the roof

    I agree

How can she come to this hearing without any answers to simple questions about the time line, who communicate with who and when, etc?

How can you expect much comment on the facts if the investigation isn't near complete yet? Surely it's not smart to do otherwise. They're not gonna give any of that out until the investigation is completed. Would be stupid to do otherwise.

    I agree

I watched a chunk of it this morning, and it's pretty much what I expected at this point of the investigation. With multiple agencies investigating, she's not gonna give out or comment on much related to the specific case for obvious legal reasons. But go ahead and keep making your wild-eyed conspiracy theories. It's all you know hoe to do.

And you can continue to act like this is just some routine investigation.

I'm surprised she did. There does seem to be some bipartisan anger at how this happened and how the SS director is refusing to answer most of the basic questions.

“The individual used an AR-15 in order to act out his assassination attempt. An AR-15 has a range of about 400 to 600 yards. My question is, why is the Secret Service protective perimeter shorter than one of the most popular semi-automatic weapons in the United States?”

“And so, what I'm hearing is that a perimeter was not established outdoors in an outdoor venue that would prevent an AR-15, which is one of the most common weapons used in mass shootings, from being able to be within the range of Secret Service protection.”

This was just released by the WH physician today. We still have zero information about Trump’s wound or his treatment.

Keith Oberman agrees with you. You actually believe Keith Oberman. Congrats.

I bet you really still think it was staged too.

Do you think the release you posted above is accurate in light of our commander in tweet stepping down via X?

And you can continue to act like this is just some routine investigation.
The White House fence jumper investigation and the agent extracurricular activities are just 2 that has happened in the last 10 years. What makes you believe that this investigation is any more special than these other investigations into the USSS?

Because it involves a former President and the leading candidate in the polls to be President again who would have been assassinated if he didn't turn his head.

It's laughable that you would act like this is not a more important investigation than your two examples.

I'm not surprised at all. If you've ever watched any other hearing she's participated in, she always asks tough questions regardless of the individual testifying. It's their job to ask tough questions, and it's the USSS director's job to answer the questions she can answer.

It's certainly not, but that doesn't mean they'll break protocol just to make the politicians happy, which isn't their job anyway. Call a hearing after the investigation if they want to know what happened.
If I was her, the only answer that I would give is "The question that was asked will be answered by the findings of the investigation of this incident. I will not comment on the results of an investigation that has not been concluded...Next."

I’m just glad that the USSS is investigating itself. It makes me feel like we will get the best response. Like when the NFL investigated itself for CTE in former players.

That's pretty much what she said for the most part this morning. There were some general questions she answered, but if they were directly related to the case, it was your quote above. Some of the questioners did try to rephrase the same question, but she's too smart for fall for that.

I have no idea if this is accurate.

“Someone who regularly visited Crooks home and work also visited a building in Washington, DC located in Gallery Place.

“This is in the same vicinity of an
    @FBI office on June 26, 2023.

    “Whose device is this?”

Not any more laughable than your assertion. I believe all investigations carry the same weight.

If you watched the testimony at all, you'd know the FBI is the leading investigatory agency. So....

The USSS is running their own investigation as well, but that's more of an internal protocol review than anything else. FBI is tasked with the primary investigation, unless I misunderstood what was laid out this morning.

I don’t know where I said that the FBI wasn’t leading the investigation, so…

I just said that the USSS was investigating itself (which we both know to be true). Is everything going to be a point of contention between us? And is it because I don’t believe in DA as HC?
