I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

If you are going to disqualify every source that has been wrong or misleading in the past, you're going to be left with nothing. You have an incredible ability to bury your head in the sand and then insist that what you can't see due to your self-imposed darkness doesn't actually exist.
Um yeah I'm not believing anyone who committed fraud and tried to cover it up.

    LMAO

Once again, changing your mind due to new research is not committing fraud

This was a reference to the features of SARS-CoV-2 that we identified based on early analyses that didn’t appear to have an obvious immediate evolutionary precursor. We hadn’t yet performed more in-depth analyses to reach a conclusion, rather were sharing our preliminary observations.

I cautioned in that same email that we would need to look at the question much more closely and that our opinions could change within a few days based on new data and analyses — which they did.

SFL: how is that fraud? You know you are defaming these people, right?

Here is a Spanish paper that reviews recent findings that lean toward the market as the source.

“One of the scientists who has most thoroughly studied the first cases is Professor Michael Worobey, a Canadian evolutionary biologist who is a professor and director of the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department at the University of Arizona. He has published several works in high-impact journals, two of which are of note. The first, Investigate the origins of COVID-19 was published in Science in May 2021.11This article has been downloaded more than 5.7 million times and cited in more than 2650 scientific articles. The second article, Dissecting the early COVID-19 cases in Wuhan 14 was published in that same journal seven months later. In his research,15 Worobey indicates that the majority of the cases were grouped in the center of Wuhan, close to the westerns shore of the Yangtze river, with a high density of homes near and around the Huanan market. They used a Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) to reconstruct an underlying probability density function from which the locations of the houses for each case were extracted. This group of cases resided significantly closer to the market than those who worked in it, which seems to indicate that they had been exposed to the virus in the market or close to it. In the case of market workers, the risk of exposure arose from their workplace and not their place of residence, which were significantly farther away than cases not formally linked to the market. Therefore, according to Worobey, “The clustering of COVID-19 cases in December around the Huanan market contrasts with the pattern of widely dispersed cases across Wuhan by early January through mid-February 2020.”

In September 2021, other authors such as Holmes et al. also studied the epidemiological relationship of the first cases and published their findings in the journal Cell. They confirmed this epidemiological relationship to the market16 and did not find a relationship to the geographical location of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which is located south of the Yangtze river and on the other shore from where the Huanan market is located.”

Both the FBI and the Energy department said it most likely was a lab leak despite your weak spin attempt.
So you're good with the FBI here, but not in the Mar-a-Lago thread, right?

But what do I know, I was supposed to be dead 2 winters of death and misery ago according to 'science' and at least one person on here, since I didn't get the sacrament of the jab.
Yea, and I was supposed to have 5G cardiomyopathy but here we are.

Oh, and plenty of unvaccinated people actually died of COVID over those two years, but I don't know anyone whose 5G was activated when the FCC did an emergency test, so yea.

Trump derangement syndrome is alive and well I see with the left still.

Ha ha, what a post. Calling out people for "Trump derangement syndrome" and anti-vax to boot.

Reminder: we have heard tapes where Trump admitted that all during the time he went out and lied about Covid to the American people, he knew the truth. He was petrified that the stock market would go down and he would lose the election. He lied repeatedly. My neighbor believed him. She didn’t think it was serious. She died.

    Cowardice, plain and simple.
    Covid totally unmanned him.

There is some kind of derangement and the people affected isn't who he thinks. If Trump retires and stop destroying our country, I can care less if his fat arse golf's all day. But his followers will gaggle over everything he does still.

    and omg, the shear intelligence.

You know what? Your lies don’t fool anyone. Nobody told you that you would die if you didn’t get vaccinated.

At one time, there may have been a whisper of a point when people would say that Trump opponents were overreacting. But no longer. We have seen what he did. We know what he has done and he tells us what he wants to do. He has stolen highly classified documents and lied about having them. Told his lackeys to move them around in a vain attempt to conceal them from the FBI in his beach club.

But worse than that were his lies about a “stolen” election, which led directly to an attack on our Capitol where thugs and criminals beat police officers, smeared feces on the Capitol, and just defiled it in every way. He approved of a plan to try to steal the election, an auto-coup, by authorizing fake sets of electors and trying to bully Pence into accepting them. He did nothing for hours as he watched the attack, only intervening when it was clear that the Capitol police were clearing the building. The only president in our history to so openly fail to keep the oath of office he took and to openly defy the peaceful transfer of power that has been the jewel of our democracy.

So the people you deride as having TDS were correct in their assessment of Trump. And you and your ilk, who support him or say he is a normal person, look like fools. And remain so foolish, so oblivious, that you don’t even recognize how wrong you were.

Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental health condition in which people have an unreasonably high sense of their own importance. They need and seek too much attention and want people to admire them. People with this disorder may lack the ability to understand or care about the feelings of others. But behind this mask of extreme confidence, they are not sure of their self-worth and are easily upset by the slightest criticism.

The above describes Trump to a T.
Yeah. I can buy that. I would also say this included most of our politicians. Remember, these are all the theatre kids from high school and college. They all seek attention.
The only exception would be the ones that are actually called to public service and there are not a lot of them at all. Maybe 3 on both sides.
