I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

IF Biden were president the pandemic would not have gotten to the state it is

Hell, Biden thought limiting travel from China was Xenophobic. Or, at least I think that is what he was incoherently babbling about.

Trump messed that up as well, because he let nationals travel freely without tests. Since he let nationals travel freely, it was Xenophobic, because if the objective was to prevent people from bringing in the virus, he would've limited nationals by putting them in quarantines. It was a hollow and essentially Xenophobic action.

So naked links are okay now? This could have been an interesting subject to discuss if you would have included your opinion. What changed from this post from you:
Sorry, it was meant to go as an 'add on' with my other post to Beach Friends.

Basically, Biden outlines his plan, I sent him where the plan is. So, that's just information, not an opinion. My opinion was that a lot of it is political speak and not overly specific. I thought I was being fair for stating that.

the second post was just that he talked with Trump and that he said he gave him 4 specific things, but they both agreed not to make those things public.

It was just information, since Beach Friends asked "what's his plan?" So, I shared his plan, and an article, which I bolded, the part where he actually allegedly (if you believe him) some specific advice.

    Sounds like it was cordial.

Is it ok that I pass along a direct answer to something, or must I give an opinion? It's not an Original Post that starts a thread. Those would have different considerations.

According this model, the effect of social distancing may be questionable at best.

IF Biden were president the pandemic would not have gotten to the state it is and the Republicans would NEVER have passed the enormous stimulus bills. They'd have sooner eaten molten lava than allow a Democrat to make that move.
What a load of crap. Biden has some serious health issues and can’t make it through a 5 minute interview without screwing up. If Biden were in office now we would be screwed and the death toll would likely be double or triple what it is now.

What I want to know is if we can pay a tax to stop global warming then why don’t we pass a tax to stop the virus?

    Faithful to the narrative.

    Based on what?
Obviously it is moot as Biden is not in a position of leadership, but, I think Biden would have heeded the warnings of the experts from a not-gutted, muzzled CDC, and lean heavily on the experts who aren't preoccupied with kissing his arse to handle the situation.

Here's the question I would love for someone to ask at one of these briefings:

"Mr President. It was recently reported that your adviser Peter Navarro wrote a briefing that the Coronavirus outbreak could be devestating, and that back in November, your intelligence agencies wrote a report that the outbreak in China had the potential to become a global pandemic. You have stated that you were not aware of either of these reports until recently. What are you doing about the fact that your own administration is somehow preventing you from receiving important information that could be crucial for your ability to lead the country?"
"That's a very nasty question. What a nasty question. Somebody I barely know claims to have written....and I get a lot of briefings every day...so many briefings you wouldn't believe...this person claims to have written a memo about the virus.

Listen, I know about the virus, okay? I know more about the virus than anyone. I was calling it a pandemic before anyone thought it was a threat, okay. Listen, you and fake media, and you know who you are.....you and fake media quoting your fake resources about the information being given to me. I know everything that is going on with the virus.

My team has done a fantastic job with the virus. I had a wonderful call with Biden about the virus the other day. It was a perfect call...just like my call with Ukraine....and all you people want to report on is the fake news. We're seeing good results and we are beginning to see the peak of infections. Next question. What a nasty question. You should be ashamed of yourself."

By this time, everyone pretty has an idea of how a question like that would be answered, if it was answered at all.

The "dims"... oh, wow... you and Mark Twain...
I’m not being faithful to any narrative but I don’t have blinders on either. Biden is a total mess. But I guess you and corn pop don’t care. I don’t know where you are getting your info from but the CDC has not been gutted or muzzled. Anthony Fauchi is one of the top Dr.’s in the field of infectious diseases so I would consider him a expert.
Based on the answer I just gave you. Biden is a train wreck and when he gets on the debate stage with Trump lookout. Trump is going to eat him alive.

Trump can't form a coherent sentence and you think he's going to eat Joe alive? If anything, it'll be a battle of geriatrics with Trump likely drooling on himself and, for what it's worth, I'd consider the use of the word "Dim" to refer to half the country as an insult and offensive. You may not care, but this board was intended to avoid that sort of thing. You may want to reconsider your phrasing, but you also might enjoy a little humor.

Are we allowed to post funny stuff links?

Think back to the debates in the last election. Do you remember Trump snapping back at Hillary’s comment about his temperament and telling her that she’d be in jail? Compare that to Biden stumbling around with his answers.

I remember Biden being a constant source of funny misstatements. I also vividly recall Trump stammering senselessly like a 5 year old saying things like "no puppet. No puppet" You puppet. No puppet." The man has a vocabulary smaller than a typical 12 year old and his failing to grasp ideas is obvious to all except those who've signed on for the cult.

The irony of a person calling Biden dumb and thinking Trump could out duel him in a debate is rich.

In the sense that Biden has quite a few senior moments I'd agree. On the other hand Trump is so full of crap anyone with any intelligence can see right through it. So you have a lot of willful ignorance of people blindly following Trump anyway.

I do think people are underestimating Biden vs. Trump in a debate. Senior moments aside, he does have some impactful moments, and his "out there losing his cool moments" could be a good Trump counter. Remember when he called that guy full of shirt? And someone else a damn liar? Another time in a debate he wouldn't back down from someone trying to talk over him, or sometimes he shouts people down. I could see Biden being as big of a bully as Trump in a debate, maybe even bigger, but obviously coming off a lot more honest, genuine and trustworthy. He's a bit unpredictable. Those types of jabs might score points with the very small percentage of actual important swing voters.

Then go back and look at Biden in the debates and at one point he stopped in mid sentence and bowed his head and said his time was up.

    Really. Just on this post:
    Biden is a total mess.
    Biden is a train wreck

And obviously is not only you. Ergo, narrative.

But I guess you and corn pop don’t care.
    Who's corn pop?

I don’t know where you are getting your info from but the CDC has not been gutted or muzzled.
People were fired in 2018, who were key players in any U.S. response to a pandemic.

Anthony Fauchi is one of the top Dr.’s in the field of infectious diseases so I would consider him a expert.
I'd consider him an expert too. It's too bad no one in a leadership role listened to him months ago.

Based on the answer I just gave you.
    So based on nothing, then.

We are getting into election discussion rather than coronavirus.

I don’t think Biden is dumb. I think he has untreated dementia.
