Didn't really see a place for this so I thought I would start a thread about all things LGBTQ since this is a pretty hot topic in our culture right now

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/17/sup...y-that-refuses-to-work-with-lgbt-couples.html

    • The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a unanimous defeat to LGBT couples in a high-profile case over whether Philadelphia could refuse to contract with a Roman Catholic adoption agency that says its religious beliefs prevent it from working with same-sex foster parents.
    • Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in an opinion for a majority of the court that Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with Catholic Social Services once it learned that the organization would not certify same-sex couples for adoption.

I will admit, I was hopeful for this decision by the SCOTUS but I was surprised by the unanimous decision.

While I don't think there is anything wrong, per se, with same sex couples adopting and raising children (I actually think it is a good thing as it not an abortion) but I also did not want to see the state force a religious institution to bend to a societal norm.

Not many thank God, parents are waking up and pulling it out of schools. Sorry, it got found out and the backlash is overwhelming for you tribe.

What are you talking about? I don't think that book should be in elementary schools either and a cursory Google search didn't turn up any instances of it in school libraries other than high schools. Not sure there are many people that would support that book being made available to elementary school students.

Then I am sure you will admit the same about 'racist', fascist and nazi as well, since you are intelligently honest and all.

Can you think of a book that should not be in an elementary library? What about this:

Looks like a real page turner! Anyway, looking at it made me cringe but didn't turn me gay.

Saul, I think you hit on something. They must think they can be turned gay, or that children can be turned gay. That’s so sad.

Does anyone think that book would be dangerous for high school students? You know, my mom never censored my reading as a child. She let me pick the books, and I read Helter Skelter and the book about the Kansas family that got murdered (I forget the name - I think it was written by Truman Capote) when I was in grade school. (I read a LOT.) Never felt the urge to murder anyone though, funny that.

Likely found in someone's personal library and they thought it would be cool to share to foment outrage.
Why would something that is age appropriate and in a public school library foment outrage? Surely the teachers/activists would not allow something like that if it can foment outrage, right?

Why is @Farb posting her personal literature collection in this thread?
Sadly, your joke is to make me look like a degenerate is pretty funny but just realize that book is also in public school libraries. I

You were claiming that they were in elementary school libraries. There is no evidence that shows you were telling the truth.

First off, I do not believe that book was found in public school library. Secondly, the people that brought attention to that "book" knew that it would create outrage because they know that there are clowns who would believe their story!

Finally, how many public school kids actually utilize public school libraries for reading these days? Kids that have an affinity for reading are doing so on their tablets and if they are looking for something nefarious, I'm certain they can find whatever they want on the internet.

So you are ok with that book being in HS libraries?

    Ok, you would be wrong.

So by that logic, Penthouse letters should be available because 'kids rarely use the library these days' and they can find it on the their tablets anyway.

Man, reading comprehension is not your strong suit! How did you get there from what I posted? Perhaps your indoctrination is so deep that you have been trained to hear or read whatever they want you to.

LET ME BE CLEAR! I DO NOT CONDONE "BOOKS" OF THAT NATURE BEING PROVIDED BY SCHOOL LIBRARIES AS THEY ARE CLEARLY INAPPROPRIATE!!!

Although, I know that the book we are talking about is hoax.
