Many of Trump's endorsed candidates did not do well on Nov. 8th.

Gov. Ron DeSantis DID do well.
    He won convincingly.
Yet in this OP's opinion, Donald Trump is an egomaniac who is seemingly incapable of putting "Party over Self"
Trump has ZERO chance of being elected our next president.
In my opinion, if Trump would just shut up and go away (fat chance of that)...but "if" Trump did that, Gov. Ron DeSantis would have a CHANCE to be a formidable candidate for President in 2024.
Here is an interesting article on this topic...

What do any of you think re. Trump vs DeSantis?

    DeSantis, Trump and Nikki Haley

Charlie Sykes thinks Haley is running because Trump asked her to, just to split the vote, and Denver Riggleman seems to think the same - that Haley will help Trump split the vote and be rewarded with the VP slot once Trump wins the nomination.

That poll is eye-opening. I knew a more crowded field favors Trump, but I didn’t know that only one additional candidate would be enough. Ugh.

Just catching Sununu on TV, hearing he may run. Pretty telling: he cannot bring himself to say he wouldn’t vote for Trump if Trump ends up being the nominee. IMO he came across as very, very weak. He criticizes Trump for rhetoric leading up Jan 6, but said that “the alternative” is worse. Anyone saying that Biden is worse than Trump is either delusional or lying. Not a great way to put oneself forward.

It’s so disappointing, Sununu should be a leading candidate in the R party. It just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Any Republican who lacks the stones to stand up to Trump by default is not a leader. They all know what he has done yet they can’t bring themselves to say anything.

Can’t imagine Haley would siphon enough votes from DeathSantis but I could be wrong.

Maxwell Frost may be my favorite new Representative. This guy was throwing darts all over the House meetings this week.

Rep. Maxwell Frost, the first Gen Z member of Congress, had numerous breakthrough moments this week during hearings run by House Republicans. The Florida Democrat’s performance did more than unmask the folly of GOP investigations, though it certainly did that. Subtly but unmistakably, he signaled a generational turn in the Democratic Party.

Young, rising Democrats such as Frost and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York — whose own big moment this week revealed Twitter’s special treatment for Donald Trump — are putting their stamp on the party by modeling how to break through the informational clutter.
“Oftentimes, our party has a problem with having a simplified message that’s able to cut through all the noise,” Frost told me in an interview. “This is something I think Republicans are actually good at.” He added: “It’s something we can get better at.”

During a Tuesday hearing on border security, Frost used his backbench seat on the Oversight Committee to get two border police officials to overturn the entire premise of the GOP argument on immigration, that Democrats want “open borders”:

Alyssa Farah Griffin is maintaining her skepticism of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and his future as a leader of the Republican Party. On Thursday's episode of "The View," the host bluntly predicted that he "will implode" when it really comes time to face Trump and his insults.

As part of their Hot Topics discussion on Thursday, the hosts got a laugh out of DeSantis shading the twice-impeached former president by saying "I don't spend my time trying to smear other Republicans." Joy Behar predicted that wouldn't last long, while host Ana Navarro mostly just brushed it off.

"To tell you the truth, I don't know if it's because I'm in Florida, and I get a daily dose of it, [but] I'm already so bored with this DeSantis-Trump fight," Navarro said. "I'm a lot more interested in a George Santos and Mitt Romney."

Alyssa Farah Griffin largely agreed, reiterating that as "Trump Lite," DeSantis really doesn't stand a chance of becoming the Republican nominee in 2024, should he decide to officially run for president. She added that, at this point, he feels "so overhyped," and likely won't be able to handle the insults Trump will inevitably hurl at him.

"I'm just going to be honest, I have seen Trump take out every mini version of Trump for the last five years," Farah Griffin said. "I think right now, you know, the party wants someone other than Trump. They want Trump Lite, so they're boosting and hyping DeSantis. He doesn't do national interviews. He's done nothing on the national stage. I think he will implode once Trump keeps going after him and going after him.".............

I wouldn’t call it Trump Lite. I would call it a refinement of Trump in an attempt to make the radicalized ideology more palatable to voters. That being said, DeathSantis comes off poorly the more he tries to push because he lacks something that Trump had. Trump did it first and Trump was already a celebrity which says something sad about the stupid of the electorate.

oh no, he is totally nothing like trump... or actually...

During the panel discussion Tuesday, DeSantis accused the press of using Sullivan as a shield to intentionally “smear” politicians and said the precedent discouraged people from running for office. Would the current Supreme Court, he asked the panelists, be “receptive” to revisiting the case?

Donald Trump, who talked of changing libel laws as president, raised the same question in a court filing in December. The motion, part of a defamation lawsuit Trump filed against CNN, asked whether the high court “should reconsider whether Sullivan’s standard truly protects the democratic values embodied by the First Amendment.”

AT LAST! At last a Dem gets it. A simple, clear, direct message for the love of the FSM. Something memorable instead of a boring novel every time they open their yaps.

Nikki is going to announce tomorrow in Charleston.

And here's a reminder of why she sucks:

She definitely won’t attract the MAGAts. Poor Nikki used to have a brain at one time.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is set to propose legislation that would block any state pension investment banking decisions he and his Republican allies in leadership consider "woke," Orlando Sentinel reports.

The proposal announced this week "would block all investment decisions based on 'environmental, social and governance' standards, known as ESG."

Additionally, a press release distributed by DeSantis' office, according to Orlando Sentinel, confirms the bill would also prevent “financial institutions from discriminating against customers for their religious, political, or social beliefs — like owning a firearm, securing the border or increasing our energy independence.”............

It's comical Haley thinks she has a shot in the current Republican party 😂

I think the best take is that she’s hoping to emerge as a reasonable candidate when DeSantis shows he’s not ready for prime time and the only other choice would be Trump . . . and if that doesn’t pan out, she’s well placed to be a VP choice for either.
