Many of Trump's endorsed candidates did not do well on Nov. 8th.

Gov. Ron DeSantis DID do well.
    He won convincingly.
Yet in this OP's opinion, Donald Trump is an egomaniac who is seemingly incapable of putting "Party over Self"
Trump has ZERO chance of being elected our next president.
In my opinion, if Trump would just shut up and go away (fat chance of that)...but "if" Trump did that, Gov. Ron DeSantis would have a CHANCE to be a formidable candidate for President in 2024.
Here is an interesting article on this topic...

What do any of you think re. Trump vs DeSantis?

can't speak to the taxes but the alcohol/ABC thing makes no sense

Do you know when and why it was set up that way? Do any other states do the same thing?

I thought it was like New Jersey and gas stations, just a weird, archaic rule that should have been lifted decades ago

@DaveXA may be able to recall more clearly than I do but I remember Youngkin's appeal being mostly his "Mr. Rogers playing Trump" schtick. I'm half surprised his ads didn't show him arriving home and changing his shoes and putting on his sweater

And I will always believe that he won the election mostly by seizing on Terry McAuliffe's parents and school comment and riding it for all it was worth and then some. If McAuliffe hadn't said that I think he wins

Yup, McAuliffe was more right than wrong with what he was saying but, politically, it was an idiotic statement to make.....and I agree it cost him the election.....

Youngkin is a wolf in sheep's clothing, if memory serves his admin tried to set up a tattle tale or tip line on schools/teachers if parents thought they were teaching "inherently divisive practices"......total authoritarian stuff, I believe they had to shut it down due to the ridicule it generated....

Or Trump in Mr. Roger's sweater

Yeah the tattletale line was an epic disaster and was quietly discontinued

I agree with SteveNJ, I think it's far too late for him to declare for 24

Right! I want to order some bottles I can't find here, but it's illegal to buy out of state and have it shipped here. Meh.

No idea when it started. I'll look it up when I have some time.

Have you been to the Total Wine store in Maryland? Ton of liquor in a store the size of a supermarket

    The alcohol laws are weird

I had a client who was involved in getting absinthe being able to be sold again in the United States. It was mythical when I was in college..

I was thinking it would have been a pretty easy process.

Run your tests, 'Does it make people go crazy and hallucinate?'

'No, it's just alcohol, won't do anything other than get you drunk'

"Ok, cleared for sale. It can be on store shelves in 30 days"

Nope! He said it took like 5 or 6 years to get clearance and approval

Never thought about going to Maryland. It's not too much of a hike. I'd probably have to see what they carry before I go out there. But a 30-45 minute drive is doable.

The one in Laurel MD is awesome

Even if they don't have specifically what you're looking for you'll find something comparable, and probably a lot you're not looking for

We've gone in for one thing before and come out with $100-200 of various spirits

Ron wears those heels because Carter was the last guy under 5'11 to get elected since the 50's. The slant that makes all this really funny is how feminine wearing heels can be viewed.

FYI: Putin also notoriously wears gigantic lifts in his shoes.
I’ve seen it said that Trump does as well. Because he lies and says he’s 6’3” when he’s actually closer to 6’1”. Maybe that’s why he leans forward so weirdly sometimes.

Has something changed in MD? Before moving last year I lived there for 33 years and to my knowledge the only place to get spirits, ie" hard liquor is the County run liquor stores.....The total Wine places (and other places) only sell wine and beer I thought, at least in MD......in Myrtle Beach there is a Total Wine and Spirits.....

Cool, I might go to one in like Bethesda or something. Laurel would add another 20 minutes or so. But it sounds good. Might take a drive this weekend or next.

    Ton of liquor stores

If they are county run they aren’t branded that way like ABC in Virginia are

All appear to be separate and independently owned
