As we head toward the summer and the National Party Conventions, it might be handy to have a thread focused on the upcoming matchup of current President Biden vs Former President Trump.
As of April 28,2024 , CNN's poll shows Trump leading. Yet polls are not always accurate and they are constantly changing.
Feel free to use this thread for all things relating to Biden vs Trump.

Trump and Republicans wouldn't be laying the ground work for an excuse in case he wins if he honestly thought he had the election in the bag. This is the stuff Trump and Republicans do when they think they'll be lucky to win and will most likely lose. Already creating excuses for if they lose speaks a lot louder than any polls about how voters are likely to vote.
Remember they were laying the groundwork with excuses when they thought Trump was going to lose the debate

    It’s their move

Nobody was expecting that Biden performance

Trump is trying to woo the hospitality industry (especially in NV) by promising “no taxes on tips”. Here is the GOP bill being worked up by Cruz. It’s just about what you would expect from Don the Con and the GOP.

This is part of Trump’s speech last night. There should be a media feeding frenzy over this, but I haven’t seen anything.

LOL from a supporter of a true, unmatched con man.

now THATS funny. I dont care what side of the aisle you on.
When someone says "family of grifters".... hmmm, I wonder whose family comes to mind. [Hint: Not Biden's.] Every accusation is projection.

I don’t want Biden out. Nobody will be happier than me if it stays in because he can’t possibly win.
Yeah it's laughable that any Trump supporters would want Biden out.
I just think it’s funny that the party that calls Trump a threat to democracy fought hard to keep him off the ballot and are now going to toss all of the democrat votes in the trash.
Exactly! And the same party that claims they are saving democracy tried to jail Biden's political opponent while they warn us about Trump jailing his political opponent. It comical. Maybe they will realize that when Trump is re-elected.

You see, Greg, this thread illustrates the difference between your tribe and mine. We disagree with each other and have healthy arguments about our disagreements. We’re not a cult.
Yeah the party that has been saying Biden is fine this whole time isn't a cult.

Why are Democrats now disinterested in coups?

    It's (D)ifferent

Remember for this to be the same:

Obama would have send his own delegates to the DNC.
Obama would then have to plan a protest outside of the DNC.
Obama would have to publically threaten the DNC chairman to use his delegates.
Obama would have to instigate this crowd to take the DNC chairman hostage when he doesn't.

We are still a bunch of steps away from a coup. I would be really interested if this happened though.

20 bucks SFL has no idea what I'm talking about, and he couldn't tell you the fake elector scheme without looking it up.

I don't want him for President, that's for sure, nor is it an endorsement on my part for him at VP - it's just a question of what secures a Trump loss. My dream ticket to replace Biden is Newsom getting the nomination with Michelle Obama as VP - but we know Michelle doesn't want to do it and Newsom reportedly isn't interested in VP with Kamala - would he be interested in President this election cycle? Regardless of his interest, it's going to be really difficult to not have Kamala get the nomination. Who best pairs up as her VP to get a victory? Who is going to pull swing state votes, undecided voters, and republicans who don't like Trump? After looking at some choices, Josh Shapiro, governor of Pennsylvania and Roy Cooper, governor of North Carolina stand out as those potentially able to help pull swing state votes, but neither really have name recognition. Nor do we know if they're even willing to run.

If Trump wins and puts RFKjr in a key cabinet position would that be better or worse than him as Kamala's VP?
I believe a Harris/RFK Jr. ticket would ensure a Trump presidency. Trump and Jr. are both leaders of cults. The most
dangerous one is up to debate.

Guess I need to head over to the Menendez thread and catch up on all the left wing whining and crying about political persecution.
