The GOP has lied repeatedly about the judge’s daughter. They said she took millions of dollars from democrats, which is a lie. That is what I mean when I said they lied about her. They have consistently said this lie, over and over again.

What difference does it make what the judge’s adult daughter does in her career? How does that influence the case in any way whatsoever?

i know for sure you will not respond to these questions in any sort of truthful way. Nor will you acknowledge your base hypocrisy in even objecting to a campaign press conference by the Biden campaign, while you ignore daily press conferences defaming the judge and his daughter by family and members of Congress.

So Trump again last night was rage posting complete falsehoods - showing that he either is wildly uninformed about his own criminal trial, or he is deliberately lying to inflame his supporters and attempt to trick others into believing how unfair this proceeding is.

We have actually already discussed this early-on in the trial (link below). The judge never denied Trump’s advice of counsel defense and Trump’s attorney specifically declined that defense because it wasn’t going to work and it was going to open up Trump to new areas of testimony.

Facts and known histories don’t constrain Trump.

Why not both? He is wildly uninformed, and he wants to whip up outrage by deliberating lying to his supporters. And if they riot or kill someone, oh well….he doesn’t care about that.

Jury now being “charged” (instructions about the findings they are being asked to make) and then they will deliberate.

Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump was photographed ahead of the start of Tuesday’s installment of his hush-money trial with his hands over two sticky notes.

On one was written in thick black marker pen, in what appeared to be his handwriting: “This case should be dismissed by the judge but it’s totally corrupt.”

Someone shared an image on Reddit, albeit an edited one that gave Trump a more orange tinge. Some people suggested Trump shouldn’t have had to write the message down, given how he’s riffed on the theme on multiple occasions throughout the legal proceedings.

“LOL at needing a handwritten note that says the ‘case should be dismissed by the judge,’ one commenter wrote. Added another: “He had to write that down to remember to say it, after only repeating it 10 million times.”

“He needs to write that down!?!?” mockingly asked a third.

Other Reddit users, however, suggested Trump may have meant for the message to be spotted.

“He wrote it down because he knew he’d be photographed and get your attention,” said one. Another posted: “That’s not for him to read, it’s for us to read. They wanted those notes photographed.”............

This right here is why the Biden campaign chose to hold a press conference near the trial yesterday. There is wall-to-wall coverage of the GOP press conferences every day for the past 2 weeks. This kind of unequal coverage is part of what went wrong in 2016.

Judge Juan Merchan delivered his instructions to jurors before they began deliberations in former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial.
Here’s what Merchan told the jury:

• They must not make a decision based on biases or stereotypes;
• They must set aside personal differences;
• They must not speculate how long sentencing may be or what the punishment might be – that’s up to the judge;
• They can’t hold it against Trump for not testifying;
• The “people must prove beyond a reasonable doubt every element of the crime.” He reminds the jury it must not rest its verdict on speculation;
• They can consider whether a witness hopes to receive a benefit related to the trial, or if they have an interest in how the case ends;
• They cannot convict Trump on Michael Cohen’s testimony alone because he’s an accomplice, but they can use his evidence if corroborated with other evidence;
• The jury must be unanimous if they find Trump guilty on each count – on whether he committed the crime personally, acted in concert with others or both;
• They must determine if Trump conspired to promote someone or prevent them from public office by unlawful means;
• They should deliberate with a view toward reaching an agreement, without surrendering individual judgement;
• Jurors notes cannot be used in place of evidence;
• The foreperson will deliver the verdict for each count after deliberations are over;
• They must surrender their phones, and can only discuss the case when all 12 of them are together.

Merchan explained some key laws in the case:
On the law applicable to falsifying business records, Merchan told the jury:
"You must find beyond a reasonable doubt first that he solicited requested, commanded, importuned or intentionally aided that person to engage in that conduct and second that he did so with the state of mind required with the commission of the offense."
He also explained what makes a person guilty of falsifying business records in the first degree – explaining that they must have the intent to defraud – including the intent to commit another crime or conceal the commission of one.
On what constitutes a violation of the Federal Election Campaign Act: It is unlawful for an individual to willfully make a contribution to any candidate running for office, including the presidency, exceeding certain limits which in the relevant years was $2,700, Merchan tells the jury.
He also walked the jury through what they must find in the different counts levelled against Trump. Merchan explained what tax law violations were and said it was unlawful for a person to willfully produce a tax statement or document that's false.

He looks like he's spending too much money on legal fees and can't afford a barber/hair stylist any longer. He needs to get those eyebrows and hair under control. Also, somebody should recommend mixing in a facial moisturizer for his skin. Looking all kinds of dried and patchy.

High resolution pictures are not his friend.

I think that's probably true that a quick return of verdict is more favorable to the prosecution - but I'm sure there are enough cases where they aquitted fairly quickly, so that you can't really tell.

I think at the same time, a lengthy deliberation doesn't necessarily mean aquittal.

For convenience sake I tend to regard CNN as being the large Libertarian media outfit in the same vein that I regard FOX as being in the bag for Conservatives.

I generally ignore their narrative. Not having TV at home is a boon for helping a person ignore an entire TV network's applied bias.

I have seven TVs in my house but I also never watch TV news.


The only exception is temporary viewing of some kind of major world news event, like a war or major natural disaster.

The well at my other place has a TV in the pump house. I keep it there because I have a lot of trouble with that well bore caving in on itself. That TV connects to my deep submersible well camera I use to help keep it open.

I can fix anything I can see. It's a good use for an old TV.
