As we head toward the summer and the National Party Conventions, it might be handy to have a thread focused on the upcoming matchup of current President Biden vs Former President Trump.
As of April 28,2024 , CNN's poll shows Trump leading. Yet polls are not always accurate and they are constantly changing.
Feel free to use this thread for all things relating to Biden vs Trump.

I can’t help it that you refuse to acknowledge reality. But you cannot have it both ways, as much as you try. You said Biden should be impeached for withholding one type of offensive bomb, yet claim he’s responsible for genocide. You are seriously messed up. And also in denial that Trump, who you support, would approve of genocide, unlike Biden who is trying to achieve a cease fire and has been for months.
When I referenced Biden needing to be impeached it was to highlight how idiotic the Democrats impeachment standard for Trump was. But apparently it was done to cover up what Joe and Hunter were up to in Ukraine.

You go on and on every day how horrible Trump is while you look the other way, make excuses or try to deflect blame to Trump while the guy you support for President is enabling and supporting genocide. If that doesn't cause you to stop supporting Biden I guess nothing would.

You can't even just defend Biden. You have to include Trump in your hypothetical scenario.

I just did defend Biden and I did it truthfully and factually. You have to make up lies to smear Biden.

Nobody has to make up lies to smear Trump. In fact, it’s impossible to smear him because whatever anyone could make up, Trump is somehow always worse.

Just like his lies about the FBI trying to kill him. I’m glad you seem to realize how reckless and dangerous it is to assert a lie like that. But Trump won’t back off it. He never met a lie he wouldn’t push to the limit. He’s got serious mental issues. Yet you support him. 🤷‍♀️

Is it a lie that Biden is enabling and supporting genocide? Do you think Israel is committing genocide?

Biden is not supporting genocide. My personal opinion is that Israel is not committing genocide. Biden has been working for a cease fire for months. How is that supporting genocide?

You think Biden should be impeached over giving aid to Israel?

We were still fighting in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria when Trump left office.

300k civilians died because of the Iraq war.

Here you go again, holding Democrats to some standard that doesn't exist for Republicans.

You can't utter a single criticism of Dear Leader.

    This is genuinely forked up

Yeah, it’s all kinds of messed up. The only way for him to know that is if he has been in contact with Putin, or he just made it all up.

Jimmy Carter is IMHO one of the best presidents the US have ever had. Imagine if he had won a second term, Then the US would be the world leader when it came to renewable energy. I was going to school in Tennesee during his presidency and living with family members there and I remember that I felt they were crazy because they went all in for Anderson.
Jimmy Carter was a great human being, but not the president the U.S. needed going into the 1980's.

"Free college education" makes for a great bumper sticker (yeah, old school), but there are many details that need to be considered.

Cuba has (or had until fairly recently, not sure how it is today) free college and post-graduate education. The streets are littered with lawyers, doctors, and engineers. Granted, there are particular factors affecting Cuba, but still, it goes to show you that an educated populace doesn't necessarily mean a better society.

In MX, college education is almost free in State schools. Since all universities are autonomous, and some are much better than others, costs vary depending on location. If you take UNAM as an example, you pay ~$500 pesos ( ~$30 'Murican) for the admission exam, and if you pass, tuition is basically a token (I think it is currently $.25 cents MX/semester). The UADY, which is the State school in my home State of Yucatán, it's $700 pesos for admission and ~$7,000 pesos per semester (you pay more for location and the safety of your child).

The real financial burden comes from school materials and room & board.

Is MX better because of it? Sure. However, given the social, economic, and even cultural situation in MX, the system falls short of benefitting most Mexicans, and there is still a preference in the workplace for degrees that come from private institutions or foreign schools.

Given the education system in the U.S. and all of the (shall we call it) infrastructure around it, I think free college education in the U.S. is going to require a massive plan of action that'll take years to implement properly, and I think in the end, it won't be the panacea some think it'd be... would it be better? Maybe, maybe not, depending on what comes out in the end.
