Many of Trump's endorsed candidates did not do well on Nov. 8th.

Gov. Ron DeSantis DID do well.
    He won convincingly.
Yet in this OP's opinion, Donald Trump is an egomaniac who is seemingly incapable of putting "Party over Self"
Trump has ZERO chance of being elected our next president.
In my opinion, if Trump would just shut up and go away (fat chance of that)...but "if" Trump did that, Gov. Ron DeSantis would have a CHANCE to be a formidable candidate for President in 2024.
Here is an interesting article on this topic...

What do any of you think re. Trump vs DeSantis?

I think the results from the 2022 midterms, post Republican election laws and all, should've confirmed to any remaining holdouts that the 2020 results were valid. Of course it didn't but it should've.

You would think Republican posters would be having serious conversations about the apparent blowback from their social crusade, and how to mitigate it. How do you win over young voters that seem to hate you, more then you hate Dems? If Trump wins the nomination, but is convicted. How do you proceed to the general?

Those are all serious problems the GOP will have to try and tackle.

Instead we have guys trying to argue an incumbent president in GOP controlled states was "cheated" by mail in ballots.

404-656-1776 is the number the GA governor's office. Feel free to voice your complaints. I'm sure Brian Kemp(R) will be thrilled to hear from you.

Good to see that DeSantis is doing something to stop human trafficking into florida.

This move plays well to DeSantis base. It will serve him well if he makes it to the general election. But, unfortunately this is unlikely to pull any new voters into him. Especially voters crossing over from trump.

The indictment of trump makes the primary victory for Trump inevitable, barring Trump's death. Still, this does cement DeSantis as the in case something happens to Trump candidate.

As opposed to out of it, which he charges Florida taxpayers to engage in.
I haven't heard of many of them complaining about that.

It saves the taxpayers a lot of money for every illegal alien that DeSantis kicks out. Just the strain on the public school systems is crushing enough and that's only the start.

    You'll notice the deflection.

He doesn't deny that it is, in fact, human trafficking. He merely tries to assert that they somehow deserve it.

Another failure as, this is important so follow along. Feel free to look it up if you like. Asylum seekers are NOT illegals. Repeat, NOT illegal.

They're people attempting to make use of the very same process many of our grand and great-grand parents used to escape famine, oppression and war in 19th and early 20th century Europe.

I had no idea that you were claiming that barring illegal aliens from Florida, or sending them out of Florida is also human trafficking. You misunderstand the meaning of the term:

DeSantis is acting to prevent human trafficking, not to further it, as Biden is doing.

Then, they have nothing to fear from this law.

Our grand and great-grand parents had to follow the law, and were not allowed to just stroll across the border and then ask to stay. They landed at Ellis Island and on Galveston, and in San Francisco and were admitted legally because they were needed.

Canada admits immigrants based on Canada's needs. Why shouldn't we?

    More deflection, folks!

Watch the pea while the cups get shuffled.

The human trafficking doesn't involve the current stupidly restrictive law.

It happened when a group of asylum seekers were deliberately tricked into going cross-country and dropped off in the cold with no one there to help them. Or even told they were coming.

They were not sent out of Florida in order that the sender benefit from their labor. They were sent to a sanctuary city that had claimed that it would welcome them.

They were tricked and transported against their will. No provision was made for their arrival.

They were (and remain) here LEGALLY

(emphasis for those in the back row)

I agree. It is also nonsense that illegal aliens are costing taxpayers money. An extra kid or two in school isn’t a huge cost compared to what most contribute. It is fair to say that some jobs are taken, but unemployment is low. Illegal’s don’t get many government benefits, yet still pay plenty of taxes. Legal immigrants pay even more for less services. It is a fabricated crisis. I agree that we should only allow legal migration, but migrants have always been good for the US. They’re more law abiding, and they appreciate America more than natural born citizens. It’s mostly fear of change that motivates the anti-migrant “crisis”.

If the sanctuary cities were not ready for them, why did they invite them?

Did Biden ask the small towns in red states if they had made provision for the arrival of thousands of asylum seekers admitted en masse and sent to those towns? No, he did not.

If all that is true, why are the blue cities telling Biden enough is enough?

When migrants started flooding their cities as well as Texas and Florida cities, why did they not say, "Wow, this is great! We're getting plenty of taxes, these legal immigrants nearly all have jobs, and they are contributing to our economy. They are even more law abiding! How have we been letting the Red states hog all this benefit all theses years?"

No. Instead they are experiencing the same crowded ER's being used for primary care, burdened schools and social safety nets, and rising crime that border states have always put up with under our porous border.

Biden will have to secure the border before the election, or at least make it look like he is securing the border. He'll have to put a stop to the madness of allowing people unfettered entry by just saying the word "asylum." If not, he ensures President Trump a second term.

    Source? I haven't seen this.

    Same as my first question.

No one is being allowed unfettered entry. Asylum seekers still have to apply and go through the same process as everyone else seeking asylum. Stop making stuff up. There's simply no credible evidence this is happening.

You are really not aware of the complaints that Blue city mayors are making about the flood of migrants that they are experiencing? You should widen your horizons as far as news sources.

Washington, D.C., mayor Muriel Bowser complained recently about the costs of helping those in the country illegally. For months, Texas and Arizona have offered illegal immigrants free bus rides to D.C. That’s significantly increased the number of undocumented immigrants there, and the city can’t handle it

This month, 10 City Council members sent the mayor a letter claiming those helping illegal immigrants are “burned out and overwhelmed.” The letter continues, “Migrants are being directed to existing district systems and resources intended for district residents. Without action, there is a risk of these systems being overwhelmed.”

Sorry for the Big Red, but I know how people sometimes gloss over things.

As New York City was inundated with asylum seekers bused from the border last year, Mayor Eric Adams cast blame on the Republican governors of Texas, Arizona and Florida.

But when the cost to feed and house the migrants quickly escalated, Mr. Adams shifted his ire to the federal government, pressing for more emergency aid, and to allow asylum seekers to work legally.

On Wednesday, Mr. Adams delivered his harshest criticism yet, singling out President Biden, an ally who has placed Mr. Adams on a national advisory board for his re-election campaign.

“The president and the White House have failed New York City on this issue,” Mayor Adams said during a news conference at City Hall, mentioning Mr. Biden by name.
