It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

Is it going to actually happen or is this Build The Wall 2.0?

Something tells me that he is perfectly content with his wife's detention/deportation

Cheaper than an attorney and doesnt "lose face" by filing for divorce (if that is frowned upon by family etc)
The husband might have called ICE to tend to his problem. That's been done before. Business owner have also been known to call to get their workers deported on the last day they need workers, so they will be deported before they have to pay them.

Over the years often posting on conservative boards, I've become aware that a whole lot of the guys on the right have marriages which have failed, and to replace those wives they brought in mail order brides from other parts of the world.

I don't understand that. They're always down on immigration even after they've caused a woman to immigrate here.

Entirely possible, I understand perfectly.....they view women as objects/possessions....when they grow tired of said object they just possess another....

This woman was put in prison for 5 months, while committing no crime, having legal status here. She graduated with honors from a TX university and has lived in the US since she was a small child. Got married and was detained when on her honeymoon. Thrown in a prison and was almost deported to Gaza, where she has never even been, in the middle of a war against a court order. This story is crazy and just shameful. Like most of the stuff Trump is doing.

I don't understand what is the point of arresting people like this? These are people you want to keep.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Famed Mexican boxer Julio César Chávez Jr. has been arrested for entering the United States illegally and will be deported to Mexico, where he faces organized crime charges, U.S. federal officials said Thursday.

The arrest comes only days after the former middleweight champion lost a match against Jake Paul in Anaheim, California.

The 39-year-old boxer was picked up by a large number of federal agents while he was riding a scooter in front of his home in Studio City, according to Chávez’s attorney Michael Goldstein.

“The current allegations are outrageous and simply another headline to terrorize the community,” Goldstein said.

Many people across Southern California are on edge as immigration arrests have ramped up, prompting protests and the federal deployment of National Guard troops and U.S. Marines to downtown Los Angeles.

Goldstein did not know where Chávez was being detained as of Thursday morning, but said they were due in court Monday related to gun possession charges from last year and were to provide an update on his progress in a substance abuse program.

The Department of Homeland Security said Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers detained Chávez for overstaying a tourist visa that expired in February 2024 after he entered the country in August 2023…….

Melania overstayed her tourist visa and illegally worked while on a tourist visa. That doesn’t count though.

I wish reporters would point that out and say people today are being deported for overstaying their visa and if Melania should/would have been deported too

And force GOP to give an answer

These prison camps that are being thrown up….it has to remind everyone of the similarities to the camps thrown up during WW2. The kind that George Takei speaks about. This is a continuation of evil. These same camps will be looked back on our past as a shameful time in our Countries history.

If you ever do one of the downtown L.A. protest marches, let me know so we can meetup and protest together.

Naturalized citizen? Doesn't matter. They're coming for you next. Happy Independence Day...

According to a memo issued by the Justice Department last month, attorneys should aim their denaturalization work to target a much broader swath of individuals – anyone who may “pose a potential danger to national security.”

The directive appears to be a push towards a larger denaturalization effort that fits with the Trump administration’s hardline immigration policies. These could leave some of the millions of naturalized American citizens at risk of losing their status and being deported.
