House Select Committee Hearings on Jan. 6 (1 Viewer)

I actually think the folks on the inside who tried to do the “legal” coup are worse than the rioters. And the rioters are terrible people who deserve to go to jail.

But these lawyers and elected representatives knew the election wasn’t “rigged”. To a person, they knew the results were valid. They worked like hell scheming to deny the people of the US the representation they voted for. They should be thrown out of office and denied any future offices in this country. They should all lose their ability to practice law. They’re traitors is what they are.
    Absolutely. :9:

Trump mad. This may be my favorite Trump post ever

Hopefully, DOJ has already had charges ready to go, and the hearing will end of a live stream of a real raid of Mar-a-lago and Trump will end the day in clothes that match his skin.

I guess other than the charge recommendations, they didn't say anything new, because we learned of these things the past 2 years, but hearing them all at once, man... like a huge bucket of iced cold treason thrown at you...

Although President Donald Trump has accused the House Select Committee of turning a blind eye to the purported mass fraud he believes cost him the 2020 presidential election, it turns out that the committee did ask his allies to back up their election fraud claims under oath.

The executive summary of the committee's final report states that it asked multiple election conspiracists -- including John Eastman, Michael Flynn, Jenna Ellis, and Phil Waldron -- for evidence of election fraud and that "all invoked their Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination" in response.

In addition to this, former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani acknowledged to the committee that he did not buy claims that Dominion Voting Systems' machines had stolen the election from Trump, and his ally Bernard Kerik acknowledged that "it was impossible... to determine conclusively whether there was widespread fraud or whether that widespread fraud would have altered the outcome of the election."

In sum, writes the committee in the executive summary, "Not a single witness--nor any combination of witnesses--provided the Select Committee with evidence demonstrating that fraud occurred on a scale even remotely close to changing the outcome in any State."............

The House Jan. 6 Committee suspects many former aides to Donald Trump falsely claimed not to recall facts while testifying under oath, and that a memoir by former White House chief of Staff Mark Meadows may have played a role in their answers.

That was among the details in the 154-page document the committee released on Monday, which it said was an executive summary to the final report that will be made public later this week.

The committee is winding down its 18-month investigation, which involved over 1,000 interviews, including key members of Trump’s inner circle.

Meadows published The Chief’s Chief in December 2021, at a time when the committee was still interviewing witnesses. By then, Meadows had handed over to the committee thousands of text messages and other documents, but refused other requests for information. The committee was concerned the book’s publication would butt area their work, and witnesses would parrot Meadows’s descriptions of events “as if they were the party line.” A few did, the committee found.

The committee said in the report released Monday that Meadows’ book contains “a number of intentional falsehoods,” and pointed to his description of Trump late in the morning of Jan. 6, 2021, immediately after he told supporters at a rally near the White House, that he would be marching with them to the Capitol as Congress was preparing to certify the results of the 2020 election...........

From the report. This is at least out in the open. No voter fraud, just the belief that they are entitled to change the outcome of the election. 😡

The very dumbest thing about all of that is that there isn’t a single Trump “conservative” that knows what socialism is. Like they literally don’t know the definition of socialism. So they’re supposing they have this right, if not a duty (!) to take action to end American democracy in response to a thing that they don’t even know what it is.

That’s where we are in America - people that somehow made it to the White House actually think they can undo the Constitution based on a fear of a concept that they don’t even understand. It’s criminal - no matter what you thought you were doing. Also, you’re forking stupid.

This thread is a really good summary of the facts the committee uncovered:
