This could go in several threads but deserves one of its own. Apparently, the suspect got into the home and was looking for the Speaker. The police saw some of the attack and the spouse is in surgery. Social media accounts point to him being an election denier. This is pretty forked up.

Here’s the thing: SFL was taken in by some disinformation that was amplified by his favorite sources. That could happen to anyone. Will he come back to this thread and admit he was misinformed? That’s the question.

The "questions" right wing twitter is asking about Pelosi (including this bit of misinformation) under the guise of "questioning corporate media" look rather like an off-ramp to avoid discussing whether years to personal anti-Nancy rhetoric resulted in someone close to her getting seriously hurt.

Everyone on this board knows this to be true, but instead we find ourselves snuffing out innuendo about whether someone whose head was ultimately bashed in was actually in danger.

IMO if @SaintForLife is willing to post twitter threads questioning the commonly understood narrative from every angle, then he should at least offer his own working theory as to what happened that the rest of us are missing (for example, was Paul Pelosi's skull fractured necessitating surgery, or not?). It is a really significant allegation to imply that someone who claims to have been critically injured with a hammer is lying (or if you're not saying that, what are you saying, specifically?). Also, not sure what became of the substacker's implication that this guy was a liberal and that this wasn't politically motivated, now that that is the attacker's defense.

I'm not advocating for accepting the media narrative as 100% true every time -- asking questions is great -- but there's a line of good-faith / bad-faith that right wing twitter crossed long ago. If all you do is poke holes without offering your own thoughts as to what happened, at some point it rings hollow.

I have no idea what happened, but if someone broke into my house for any reason, especially to kill me or my wife, there's no way in hell I would have come our of the bathroom or go back toward the intruder when I answered the door for the cops like Pelosi did.

Why didn't he lock himself in the bathroom or exit the house when he opened the door for the police? How did their security system that has lots of camera or the Capitol Police not see this guy breaking into their house.

Something is off especially considering the left has used that to try connect it to the right wing.
