If the Nov. 2024 ballot was DNC President Biden and GOP Donald Trump, I would certainly avoid both of them and look for another candidate.
I just came across an online article that Senator Joe Manchin is CONSIDERING becoming a 3rd Party candidate.

Naturally his fellow Democrats would not like that.
#1 West Virginia would possibly elect a Republican to be their next Senator
#2 Manchin wouldn't win the presidency and he'd pull more votes from Biden than he would from Trump.

I'd CONSIDER voting for Manchin. IF he ran...AND the media gave him any "air time", then I think he'd make things interesting. :sneaky:
Historically, Most 3rd Party Candidates were names that MOST "regular folks" never heard of. Ross Perrot was an exception.
But again, my point is that most 3rd party candidates have received such a small number of votes because no one knew them and everyone knew they had no chance.
Senator Joe Manchin DOES have name recognition going for him.
When Biden's term began, I think there was some publication that called Joe Manchin: "The Most Powerful Man In Washington". An exaggeration of course, but he often "held the keys" to IF a Biden backed bill passed or it didn't.
Anyway, what say you about anything I've posted here?

Those who posted laughing emojis or facepalm emojis should reflect on the fact that many people are currently laughing at numerous Biden memes, articles and videos. Many people think that today's Joe Biden (in July of 2024) he is perfect material for cruel jokes. THOSE people would probably look upon my post as being interesting speculation and not something to react to with face palm or laughing emojis.
I don't think Joe Manchin debating Trump would have caused such ridicule....or even any ridicule. Joe Manchin is a confident talker and a dignified man.

I've come back to my post because the more I think about it.....comparing Biden and Manchin....if they were together on a split screen debate for 90 minutes, anyone who would prefer Biden to Manchin....well THAT person would be someone worthy of laughing emojis and facepalm emojis!

So, what you are saying is that the conservative Dem serving the state of WV would gain the support and votes of progressive voters??????? The same voters that are, at best, luke warm to the ideas and agenda of Biden? :spit:

Where did I ever use the word "progressive" in my post?
    Don't make this difficult.
Have Biden debate Manchin for 90 minutes.
    Split screen....no audience.
Same format as the Trump Biden debate.
After the 90 minute debate is over, ask those who watched: Which man would you like to be President for the next 4 years?
"Those who watched" would lean more toward Manchin than Biden.
    They would.

They can debate for 90 minutes daily and Manchin would lose to Biden in any D-primary 10 times out of 10 because of their policy differences.

Manchin would lose as a third party candidate as well, while probably taking more votes away from Trump than Biden.

Sen. Joe Manchin III (I-W.Va.) is considering re-registering as a Democrat to compete for the party’s presidential nomination in the wake of President Biden’s announcement Sunday that he will exit the campaign, according to a Manchin adviser.

The adviser, Jonathan Kott, declined to share more details about Manchin’s plans at this stage. Manchin was the first elected official to signal an openness to challenging Vice President Harris in the wake of Biden’s announcement after the president endorsed Harris, as did some members of the Democratic establishment.

Manchin, who will turn 77 next month, left the Democratic Party in May to register as an independent. The then-Democrat from a red state, who irked some of his fellow Democrats by cutting deals with Republicans, announced in the fall that he would not seek reelection to his Senate seat at the end of his term, hampering Democratic hopes of holding on to their Senate majority in 2024……

Forced Joe Biden out over age-related issues and he's wanting to throw his hat in the ring at age 77 when he's already left the party? Kamala should almost welcome this challenge..

I was torn between giving this a HEARTS emoji and a LOL emoji.
    Boy this is getting interesting!

He has no shot. Harris is phoning the state delegations and asking for their support right now. Biden asked them to support her. He’s just an old fart who thinks too highly of himself.

Trying for the D nomination is not gonna work!
Manchin has already earned a rep as a trouble maker who ruins stuff for the Ds.
He mighta polled better than Kennedy if Manchin had had the wisdom to run as an independent.
    Unfortunately he passed on that.
Now he should just stay on the sidelines.
"It's too late baby now it's too late,.."
I'll search for that classic song....

Yeah if he actually tries it I genuinely think it might work out further to Kamala's favor..

Wait a minute...we just got finished...ah, screw it. Manchin might as well be the Democratic version of RFK Jr. As long as he's taking votes from Trump, I'm good with it.

Joe Manchin said on Morning Joe he isn’t running for president and isn’t seeking any office; he’s ‘made it clear he’s retiring’.
While at the same time making a pitch for an open competition at the convention. And saying he thinks he speaks for all Americans. No, Joe, you most definitely do not, lol. Go away.

True but I also thought there was enough of a tone of resignation that he’ll make the media rounds and then move on from this. I could be wrong.
