It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

Is it going to actually happen or is this Build The Wall 2.0?

Not a question of "if?", it's "when?".

I agree it's likely to happen. I think killing an unarmed person will be the beginning of a very quick end to ICE being allowed to do what they're doing. I also think it will not be forgotten when the midterms roll around. I also think that if the Trump and the Republicans do anything to overtly prevent the elections, that will much more likely lead to a civil war situation than a Nazi Germany situation.

As vile and unacceptable as it is, Trump's and the Republican's mistreatment of active and veteran soldiers will protect us from the entire military ever backing a Trump lead tyrannical regime.

On a less important note, notice how the agent that got out of the car forgot to pull his mask back up? That dude's going to be identified. I've also heard through the grapevine that the dude got a clear photo of the license plate, so yeah that's going to be identified too.

It's likely that the car is a rental that will lead straight to the Government

CNN) — A federal appeals court is allowing President Donald Trump to continue having control of thousands of members of California’s National Guard.

The 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals granted a request from Trump to lift, for now, a lower-court ruling that had required the president to relinquish control of roughly 4,000 guardsman from the Golden State that he had federalized to beef up security in Los Angeles amid unrest over immigration enforcement.

The court said in an unsigned ruling “that it is likely that the President lawfully exercised his statutory authority” under the federal law he invoked to federalize the guardsmen earlier this month, rejecting arguments pushed by California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom that Trump had violated federal law when he seized control of part of his state’s militia.

Last week, US District Judge Charles Breyer directed the president to relinquish control of the guardsmen after concluding that Trump had violated several provisions of the law he leaned on in order to take control of the troops, including one that requires presidents to issue an order “through the governor” when they want to federalize state troops……..

In other words, the Appellate Court passes the buck to SCotUS.

The future of the USA is now in the hands of Scotus in my opinion. I'm worried quite frankly.
ACB's vote will be critical. They should have known giving a psychopathic narcissist as much
power as they have recently would come with dire consequences.

The sheer density of those who thought that this was going to be clean and limited to criminal types was always beyond foolish. The focus now is on arrests at immigration court (where clearly the migrants are trying to be legal) and at job sites (where the migrants are working - not committing crimes). And still, most of these people go to detention centers - they aren’t just released to freedom in some other country.

It’s also abundantly clear that this is not about public safety or job competition - and the biggest tell on that is where these operations are happening. They’re not happening in red states where Trump’s constituencies are supposedly facing criminal threat and loss of jobs from the migrant hordes. It’s happening in blue territories because the true interest is cruelty to migrants and anguish on the communities that are empathetic to them. Any other presentation is nonsense.

A quick note. I had to call the police today for a dispute with a live-in contractor working in a building next door. When I got dispatch, instead of asking if I could describe the man, she asked "is he Latino, Asian or White." It stood out to me, because when I called to report suspicious activity during the fires in January they asked me the standard "can you describe them." It also stood out to me that they didn't include asking if he was "black."

That thought isn't limited to just ICE, that applies to the entire DHS. The DHS has blatantly usurped Congress' ability to have any insight or govern any DHS operations.
The American Gestapo and it's not really an exaggeration. I'm hearing first hand from people who say they know someone who was abducted or know someone who knows someone who was abducted. They say they can't find out anything about where they were taken and they can't even get ICE to confirm they were taken by ICE.

ICE agents are going to start getting attacked, because a lot of people are legitimately scared that some of the masked gunmen who refuse to identify themselves in any way are not actually ice agents, but KKK, Proud Boys, or one of the other violently bigoted white supremacist groups.

IF that is the case then I fear that the next thing that will be found will be hidden mass graves...

Tragically, I'm starting to suspect that's possible, but more scattered graves with less bodies. It seems like instead of centralized, concentrated detention centers, they are spreading the abducted out across several locations with fewer people. That would be easier to hide in the age of surveillance by the citizenry.

Trump issued an executive order trying to keep elected representatives out of the detention centers. I'm a firm believer that people who act like they have something to hide, do indeed have something to hide.

State AGs need to try them on state charges, if possible.
A little bit, and just a little bit, I'd like to see one of these teams accidentally pull a raid like this on gang members who assume they are rival gang members in disguise. Kind of a modern day Little Big Horn with ICE in the role of Custer's cavalry. I mostly don't want it to happen, but there's just that little sliver that thinks it would be poetic justice, which is a lot more justice than they're doling out.
