This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

I actually agree with you. It was known as a gay men disease. And gay men were mostly democrats.
Sooo...Ronnie the Dim wouldn't talk about AIDS because gay men were predominantly Demcoratic voters?

What a wonderful peace of Schlitz he was.

Again, I think Reagan was a product of his times and would have evolved with the times as social norms progressed. The early/mid 80's were a vastly different time.

Reagan is a man of another era. Back in the day Hollywood actors were more conservative and patriotic. Today Hollywood actors are WOKE. Actually, perhaps they are into virtue signaling and look WOKE.

If woke Pat Robertson can happen than woke Reagan could have happened!

Sadly political parties do not cater to those that will never vote for the party. I know it is wrong, no need to emphasize that.
Interesting. So the president, no matter who he/she is, should not give a flying bleep at a rolling doughnut about those who might not vote for them? I see. And when thpose who voted for them are negatively impacted by an event such as a pandemic then said president should leap into action. This is merely “the way it is” and as such nothing can be done about it? No, this is the way it has become and it has been driven from the right and by right I mean by conservatism. I must then assume that Ronnie the Dim meant only certain people when he said “my fellow Americans…”.

Nonchalance about the downhill course of the body politic and the concepts created by the constitution, imperfect as it was and is, is unacceptable.

I said there was no need to state the obvious. I had already guessed your post.

    Thanks

Hmmm. Patriotic…like the gutless punk John Wayne?

As I said, it was another era.
Judging the past with present concepts is not sound.

    pres·ent·ism

    1. uncritical adherence to present-day attitudes, especially the tendency to interpret past events in terms of modern values and concepts.

Not sure how popular she is in the state, but either way, I don't see her having a chance unless Stitt is just that terrible that she can pull a JBE out in Oklahoma...

So should we stop counting people who stood up to the values of their time as heroes?

Should the underground railroad be seen as a subversive effort attempting to overthrow society as we know it.
