This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

This looks like a bribe to me. Maybe Comer should be investigated. 🙄

Okay, so I went to take a look at what the House is doing. It’s just gob-smacking. The amendments they are attaching to these budget bills are such BS. A lot of them are passing by voice vote, too. The really stupid ones we hear about have been voted down. But they are systematically stripping away all the climate protections that were passed by the last session by defunding them. There are also some real head-scratchers as well - like no funding for cyber crimes? WTH? Who is in favor of those? No performance bonuses for anyone in the IRS? Don’t they realize that raises money for the government?

well, with no funding for Cybercrimes, it helps the Russian propaganda machine, and well, we all know who that favors...

Judas Priest. Just looking at this thread can make someone psychotic. RepubliKKKans not only do not want to govern, they are flat out incapable of governing. The idiot known as Rep. Tunney says the press secretary lies. What the flock did Spicer, McAnany and Sarah Huckabee Slanders do during the Velveeta Vulgarian’s™️ administration

those weren't lies, they were "alternative facts", so its different.. lol

House Republicans just tried — and failed — to defund the office of Vice President Kamala Harris.

Republican Rep. Mike Collins of Georgia proposed an amendment to the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act, a major government funding bill, that would've done just that.

"None of the funds made available by this Act may be used for the salary or expenses of any officer or employee of the Office of the Vice President," read Collins' amendment.

But when it came up for a vote on Wednesday afternoon, most Republicans — along with every Democrat — voted against it, tanking the amendment on a 106-322 vote.......

"Harris sucks at defending our border."

    Uhhh, Mike?

In a statement, Weintraub revealed that there are at least 58 instances where the Federal Election Commission heard allegations against Trump. In at least 28 of those, staff at the Office of General Counsel determined that a criminal investigation was warranted—all of which went overlooked by Republican commissioners, who refused to approve any of Counsel’s recommendations against Trump. “My colleagues purport to be treating the former President and the current President alike, but the data is clear: At the FEC, Mr. Trump is in category by himself,”

Now the House GOP is fighting with each other about birth control. 🤦‍♀️

In Arizona, the state GOP chairman has been begging the Republican National Committee for a financial bailout.

Michigan party officials have gotten into physical fights as their finances have dipped into the red.

And in Georgia, the state party is in a standoff with the Republican governor and saddled with legal fees for alternate electors put forward in 2020.

In each of these 2024 battlegrounds, election denial and grass-roots fervor for former president Donald Trump have rocked the Republican apparatus. Now, the state parties are plagued by infighting, struggling to raise money and sometimes to cover legal costs stemming from Trump’s efforts to overturn his 2020 defeat — threatening to hamper GOP organizing capabilities in next year’s presidential election.

“There has been an emphasis on ideological cleansing instead of electioneering,” said John Watson, the Georgia GOP chairman from 2017 to 2019. “If those new entrants to the party want to argue the earth is flat and the election is stolen, those are counterproductive to winning elections.”

State parties are typically critical in election years for mobilizing volunteers and running get-out-the-vote efforts, and they can collect larger checks or buy cheaper airtime than other groups.

Those functions are now in doubt as the fissures fuel finger-pointing and competition for donor dollars.

Even as more experienced leaders have taken the reins in some cases, they are struggling to undo some of the damage from MAGA-aligned predecessors and deal with continued pressure from the movement…….

Small problem with the article…it is supposed to be “the election was stollen“ according to the party front runner.😁

    sad... truly sad.
I can see where they are coming from but they as a church dont deal with it either. the whole protecting the children but when the church or your members abuse children and are allowed to get away with it you cant claim you protect the children. This is why people are leaving the churches because religion is is more important then the people. protect the church screw the people. often literally.

    Ruck feligion in general.
Confession, sanctuary, etc should have zero legal standing.

Unless your clergy is also a licensed therapist, your conversations should legally be regarded as just that...two dudes having a chat.
