This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

Is there any indication that Romney would even want a second chance?
Given he is a man of high integrity (and has a desire to unite the country) I believe he would if he thought he had a reasonable chance at the nomination but he has openly acknowledged the party has become unrecognizable in the era of Trump and that he is now on the fringe.

This lady either is lying about Biden canceling fireworks at Mount Rushmore, or she’s too stupid to understand who did cancel them and why. Yet, considered a viable presidential hopeful by the GOP.

    No abortion, no fireworks. ;)

"In 2020, a fireworks display, featuring a fiery speech from former President Donald Trump, was held at the monument after a decadelong hiatus. The Park Service has cited environmental concerns and objections from Native American tribes in denying subsequent permit applications.

A federal judge last year rebuffed the Republican governor’s lawsuit that sought to force the Park Service to allow her to shoot fireworks over the granite monument. Noem has appealed that decision.

“As Americans all across our great country make preparations to celebrate their Independence Day, we have once again been denied the opportunity to celebrate at our nation’s enduring symbol of freedom, Mount Rushmore National Memorial,” the governor said in a statement."

There's something quite weaselly about her.

Well, she is the woman who feels a 10-year old should be forced to give birth to a child of rape...

Well, did Joe Biden win fair&square or not?
    That'll give you some idea.

Next you can take that Political Compass test that gets posted here from time to time.

You might be surprised at where a number of us land.

I saw that interview with Dana Bash. She, the governor, did everything she could to avoid answering the question and then admitted that it was problematic.

I saw an interview with Kinzinger (one of the very few sane Republicans) who said she is not the person I knew and worked with, she’s been radicalized….

Here is the problem with Kinzinger’s statement: he is making an assumption that Noem arbitrarily shares his viewpoints, values and beliefs based on his having worked ”with” her. This assumption is invalid from the start. Kinzinger cannot know what she is willing to say or do to further her own ambition. The assumption is also that her viewpoints, values and beliefs are not subject to change.

I applaud Kinzinger for his stand but he should know from seeing the MAGAts and the impact of Trump his assumption would not be on a strong foundation.

I was asked that months ago and I responded "YES". I will state it again that Biden is the President because he fairly won the election.
Enjoy that, because Biden won't be winning a 2nd term. He probably will not be the 2024 Nominee. Been there. Said that. This is all rehashing old talking points.

I don’t think there is a problem with it….at all….I think all of us have friends or know someone who has been radicalized or just plain brainwashed….it’s sad but very true….I think Kizinger is expressing his frustrations with that, I’m fine with that….

Yeah, I know friends who were not this entrenched in the bat guano that is Trumpian politics as they are today. They're different people from what I knew 10 years ago. I don't know if that's a product of modern day politics or what, but it's clearly different now.
