I’m sure much of us are having 2016 flashbacks this morning with a sick feeling to our stomachs..

2 of the last 3 elections Democrats have lost to a far right demagogue

Harris didn’t get close in many states to even Biden’s performance. We could very well lose the Presidency, Senate AND House depending on results the next few days…..

What went wrong?
What could’ve been done better?
What can we change in the future to ensure voters are motivated like they were when Obama was elected?

Democrats have no choice but to admit there’s a huge problem with some aspect of their platform— and to do a deep introspection of what’s going wrong..

Kentucky’s governor Andy Beshear delivered a ray of hope for Democrats worried about their party’s bench of future national talent on Sunday as he confirmed that a 2028 run for president is something that is on his radar.

Beshear appeared on CNN’s State of the Union, where the red-state governor confirmed that his thinking on the issue had changed over the past few years.

“If you’d asked me this question a couple years ago, I would have said no. My family’s been through a lot, but I do not want to leave a broken country to my kids, or anyone else’s,” said the governor.

“So what I think is most important for a candidate for 2028 is a candidate that can heal this country, that can bring people back together. So when I sit down, I’m going to think about whether I’m that candidate, or whether someone else is that candidate,” he continued.

Beshear’s appeal as a national candidate for the party is obvious, given his popularity as a Democratic governor in a state with two Republican senators and a record of going red in presidential races. His ability to win over moderate Democratic voters and independents especially is something the party is eager to reclaim after Kamala Harris’s devastating defeat in 2024.

Beshear’s second term as governor term will also end in December of 2027, making the timing of a presidential run achievable while also completing the entirety of his four years in office.…….

Andy Beshear is a solid and pragmatic politician. This bodes well for the party.

Right now, I'd vote for him over Newsum and Pete B.

His belief in equal rights, inclusion and dignity is what bodes well for every American except Trump and his Republicans and all of their supporters who vote for them.

This is the thing that I like most about the guy and what will have the supporters of Trump and his Republicans throwing false stones at Beshear for if he runs.

"Beshear, who is a deacon of an extremely liberal church in Louisville, will often situate his progressive ideology in the context of vague Scriptural principles absent their true context or authorial intent. Such an approach to God’s inscripturated word—ignoring context and authorial intent to justify political actions inconsistent with the Lord’s will as expressed through all of Scripture—is not only an act of unfaithfulness incompatible with a true Christian witness, but is a detestable lie about God’s character and His design for the created order that fails to accomplish the punishing of evil and promotion of good to which governing authorities have been commissioned (Rom. 13:3-4)."

New York City Mayor Eric Adams raised $1 million for his re-election bid on Wednesday night as his supporters step up their opposition against the Democratic nominee, Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani.

Adams hosted hundreds of people at the fundraiser event, and more than 800 donated, Bloomberg reports.

This marks a win for Adams, who reported in March that he raised just $18,000 over two months. Real estate firm CEOs Jeff Blau and Joseph Moinian attended, along with TV personality Phil McGraw, also known as Dr. Phil.

Some of New York City’s wealthiest residentshave also founded “New Yorkers for a Better Future Mayor 25,” a group aimed at raising funds to oppose Mamdani, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Former Trump adviser and New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and hedge fund CEO Bill Ackman are among those considering raising money.

Bo Dietl, an actor who wants to raise $10 million alongside Giuliani for through a seprate group, told the Journal he wants to figure out how to “stop” Mamdani.………

From my perspective, I just see more of what I've seen for a decade.
Whatever direction you think it's being taken, the question is, can it win elections? That's the important part. And it doesn't look like it.

Good or bad billionaires, if liberals turn on them, where's the campaigning money going to come from? If the DNC doesn't know how to use effecively the money they get from those billionaires, how well are they going to do with no money?

And primaried or not primaried, the goal is to win the seat in Congress and the White House.

From my perspective, Harris was a terrible job as a candidate, because she's not a natural politician, and she tried to be one, a nice one at that, and failed badly.

It is an indictment on the DNC, that the best political speech running up to the election came from an Obama, and it wasn't Barack. Not to mention the Biden circus.

I have a theory that no amount of money can overcome a huge gap in candidate quality, and effective use of social media. That's essential how AOC, and Mamdani won.

There is a huge disconnect right now between the base, and the elites in the party.

Harris wasn't bad. Her biggest problem was Biden, and not being able to seperate herself at all from the admin. They made that part of the condidtion of taking the nomination. It's honestly selective amensia at this point. I remember Harris dog-walking Trump in that debate, to the point he wouldn't do another. That's not a "terrible job".

At this point if billionaires oppose a candidate, that’s the candidate we need.

“A new poll by a Democratic super PAC highlights the challenges facing Democrats as they race to regroup in the era of MAGA 2.0. The survey, conducted by Unite the Country, found not only that Democrats have failed to gain ground on Trump this year, but they’re less popular now than they were when he was elected in November.

Voters, the group found, view Democrats as “woke,” “weak” and “out of touch.”

Not a good look.

The outlook of the article is actually optimistic for Democats, despite the recent polling that Sendai quoted.

Not a good look.
It's definitely not a good look for anyone to foolishly make guesses about what public sentiment/polling will be when we're two months from November 2026. Any quoting of polling right now is a foolish as the announcer of the Kentucky derby starting to announce the race while the horses are all still in the stable.

Elections are a marathon with a kick right near the finish line. They aren't a sprint, but you go ahead a take a victory lap and a nap, my dear hare.

Some relevant facts left out of the article quoted by Sendai. If Democrats keep focusing on the below, they will have a lot of support a year from now when the majority of the country really starts feeling the pain of Trump's policies.
"Democrats have a simple strategy for deflecting those attacks: They’re focusing virtually all their energy and attention on the most contentious provisions of Trump’s megabill, which he signed into law July 4."
Trump's policies are highly unpopular, including his bill. The majority of people don't like it and they haven't even felt the full brunt of the pain yet. Just wait until a year from now when people are really feeling the pain.

"...Trump’s bill is highly unpopular in its own right, according to recent polls. And Bannon, the Democratic strategist, agreed the megabill — combined with contentious executive policies such as mass deportations and economy-rattling tariffs — provide Democrats with an opportunity to turn the ship around and build the party’s brand heading into next year’s midterms.
“Because of MAGA missteps, Democrats now finally have tools to use to build a new foundation,” Bannon said. “The secret sauce for the opposition is to use the Medicaid cuts, immigration deportations and high tariff taxes to blister Trump for his failure to keep his campaign promise to bring down high prices on the first day of the second administration.”"

Polling just provides some insight into public opinion today. Anything can happen in the midterms. The midterms historically favor the party not in power which favors the Dems. IMO, the midterms will be a reforendum on this administration and its performance managing the economy. Most elections are driven by pocketbook issues.

That's funny considering the whole Bible is just made up stories.

To put this another way, a socially conservative union worker from the midwest should feel at home in the DNP today. The dividing line should be rich vs middle class.

They have a point, though. A true Christian will see LGBTQ+ as aberrations, evil, immoral beings not deserving of eternal life but deserving of death (even death by stoning), because that's what their manual says, both in the old texts and new texts.

Harris dog-walking Trump in a debate is not the great feat you make it sound to be.
Not being able to separate at all from the Biden administration, kowtowing to the DNC isn't a great job either.
Not using the fact that Trump didn't want to debate again, and not attacking Trump personally over that fact, that's a terrible job.
The "we go high when they go low" and woke stuff, didn't help either.

When Trump lost his 1st primary in Iowa, he said afterwards, he said "how stupid are the people from Iowa?" Ended elected president.
When Harris was asked if she thought if people would be stupid for voting for Trump, she acted indignant and said "I'd never call the American people stupid!" Ended losing the election, badly.
If you don't know the grounds you are fighting on, that's not a good job either.

But moot at this point. The U.S. is now saddled with TACO for another 3 and a half years.

I mean this is a passer-by kind of a comment. I put 99% of the loss on Biden. Harris had to use the Biden campaign because she had no time to start up her own. She could not seperate herself from the admin. It's just another example of Biden putting his ego above the country. What is she suppossed to do go against Biden, and potentially have a campaign full of Biden loyalist quit?

Actually stoning of gays does not appear in the NT. If some other punishment does, kindly show it.

Also Paul allegedly wrote that Christians are not subject to the punishment of the law.

They have a point, though. A true Christian...
No, they don't have a point. You don't get to define who's a "true" Christian and who isn't.
...will see LGBTQ+ as aberrations, evil, immoral beings not deserving of eternal life but deserving of death (even death by stoning), because that's what their manual says, both in the old texts and new texts.
That's not true. That's your opinion and the opinion of other bigots who cherry pick the bible to justify their bigotry and hate.

I have read the entire King James version of the bible for myself. In it's entirety, especially in the entirety of the four Gospels, says the opposite of what you claim it to say. That doesn't fit your false narrative though, so you cherry pick quotes and take quotes out of full context to justify your bigotry.
