I guess it's time to start a thread for this. We know that at least 140 members of Congress have pledged to join the objection. Under federal law, if at least one member of each house (HOR and Senate) objects, each house will adjourn the joint session for their own session (limited at two hours) to take up the objection. If both houses pass a resolution objecting to the EC result, further action can take place. If both houses do not (i.e. if one or neither passes a resolution), the objection is powerless and the college result is certified.

Clearly this is political theater as we know such a resolution will not pass the House, and there's good reason to think it wouldn't pass the Senate either (with or without the two senators from Georgia). The January 6 joint session is traditionally a ceremonial one. This one will not be.

Many traditional pillars of Republican support have condemned the plan as futile and damaging. Certainly the Trump loyalists don't care - and many are likely doing it for fundraising purposes or to carry weight with the fraction of their constituencies that think this is a good idea.

But that is the problem here they were let in if the twitter is to be believed.

If that video of the capital police opening up and letting them in is real then we really have problems here.

Don't forget taking selfies with the protestors, while they shout ACAF.

    Police are overwhelmingly pro-trump.

    13 arrest so far

Surprised that they have only arrested 13!!! ?

At least 13 people were arrested amid the siege of the US Capitol by Pro-Trump rioters, Metropolitan Police Department Chief Robert Contee said Wednesday.

    Stop ward.

There is a clear chain of command. Period
    That chain is never broken.
That was worked around here for one reason only.

It wouldn't surprise me that Trump is MIA. Would make sense that Pence and the Congressional leaders ask for assistance in protecting the Capitol complex. That said, I'm not sure who specifically requested the Guard be deployed, but there are protocols for the Guard that are different from the rest of the military.

She wasn’t wearing a federal uniform

she was in jeans, a Trump shirt and had a flag around her neck.

I am not hoping every Trump supporter in America be rounded up and out to death. I am simply saying anyone who broke through the barricades and stormed the Capitol should have been taken down as the entered.
Well, if you want to see it, @ 1624 MSNBC showed what appears to be the moment she was shot. Terrorist were trying to break down a closed and barricaded door with tables and chairs. At that moment, you can hear a single shot and the terrorist react as if someone was hit.

I agree everyone that got in or let them in should be treated like terrorists.

This is early in this lets see what becomes of this.

I'm a bit concerned for the media who will be out there. Can you imagine having a CNN/MSNBC sticker around these terrorists when night starts to fall?

Thought about that earlier, but guessing they all use one of those covers like the ones used to cover cameras at a rainy football game or something.. that way people can see that they are media but not specifically what network.

People wishing for the death of other people is just not acceptable, especially here. Some pretty dark comments in this thread. I totally get the frustration, but let's not let this get the best of us. We should be better than the idiots we're pointing fingers at.

“They go low, we go high! Yeah!!”

Your wife and other mothers got manhandled and roughed up while staring down a Federal building, protesting for a man being killed, and people on these very boards were willing to justify it under the guise of "well they were a part of a mob/riot." So, i get it.

Principally, I don't want people to die or even be incarcerated. But it is beyond infuriating that I can't sit in my own damn driveway, for more than ten minutes, being on my phone without police circling the block, like I'm a suspect and here we have persons being gently escorted from the steps of the Capitol after forcefully interrupting a joint session of Congress. Like, that's the America I live in and it's not right.

We are 10 minutes from the curfew. I assume the arrest will start then?

Show me where the Sec of Def said he got authorization from the VP. All I saw was that he spoke to him, and others.

If I'm missing something, I'll gladly recant what I said. What I get sick of, and maybe am jumping on too early, is when people read between the lines too hard.

my daughter's best friends grandparents posted this. I think the word is delusional.
