I guess it's time to start a thread for this. We know that at least 140 members of Congress have pledged to join the objection. Under federal law, if at least one member of each house (HOR and Senate) objects, each house will adjourn the joint session for their own session (limited at two hours) to take up the objection. If both houses pass a resolution objecting to the EC result, further action can take place. If both houses do not (i.e. if one or neither passes a resolution), the objection is powerless and the college result is certified.

Clearly this is political theater as we know such a resolution will not pass the House, and there's good reason to think it wouldn't pass the Senate either (with or without the two senators from Georgia). The January 6 joint session is traditionally a ceremonial one. This one will not be.

Many traditional pillars of Republican support have condemned the plan as futile and damaging. Certainly the Trump loyalists don't care - and many are likely doing it for fundraising purposes or to carry weight with the fraction of their constituencies that think this is a good idea.

He's climbing the charts for most punchable member of Congress. I'd rank him around #5 right now, especially because he's "leadership." Gym Jordan will be tough to knock out of the number one spot until he's in prison.

So you're claiming that thousands of people broke into the the United States Capitol that was in full session, chanting "Hang Mike Pence " and "Where's Nancy?!" just a couple miles away from the White House, just a couple of miles away from where Trump was, that crowd was the same crowd Trump himself spoke to earlier that day, the same crowd he TOLD to go to the Capitol and you're saying that NOBODY informed the President of the United States this was happening????

To me, that is the only testimony that matters. I want to hear from the people who were there if the claims that Trump was enjoying what was going on, and confused about why everyone else wasn't happy are true. I want to know if the claims that Ivanka and Jared Kushner both tried to convince him to do something and he refused are true.

He definitely thinks he's some kind of rock star after his failed attempt at the GOP nomination because he capitulated to Trump. Texans need to get rid of him. Hopefully, the influx from silicon valley continues and the small bump needed to get rid of him and his ilk will be there when he/they are up for reelection.
