Attorneys for Donald Trump claim that the former president didn’t have “fair notice” that his attempts to reverse his Georgia loss in the 2020 presidential election could result in criminal charges against him.
A flurry of filings in Fulton County Superior Court on Monday argue that the sprawling election interference case against Mr Trump “consists entirely of core political speech at the zenith of First Amendment protections”.
Attorneys for the former president want the case dismissed on grounds that he has “presidential immunity” from actions while in office, that he was already acquitted for similar allegations in his second impeachment trial, and that he was never told that what he was doing in the state – where he is charged as part of an alleged racketeering scheme to unlawfully subvert the state’s election results – could be prosecuted.

In a court filing seeking to have charges against him dismissed, an attorney for Michael Roman – an ex-staffer of the former president – has accused Willis of intentionally failing to disclose a relationship with the prosecutor, Nathan Wade, and personally benefiting from his appointment to the case.

Nathan Wade, Willis's chief prosecutor and alleged romantic partner, documented four covert meetings held between the January 6th committee and the prosecution team:
• April 18-21, 2022
• May 31, 2022
• Sept. 7-9, 2022
• Nov. 16, 2022
In addition, court documents reveal that Willis's team conducted two secretive meetings with the Biden White House on May 23 and Nov. 18, 2022, totaling 16 hours of discussions before levying charges against Trump.

Willis asked to see their evidence. I repeat, so? Evidence is evidence, facts are facts. It’s shared all the time. Is it your position that every law enforcement entity has to start from scratch in cases where there might be some overlap?
If a gang robs banks in more than one jurisdiction, do you imagine evidence isn’t shared between the agencies? Do you think different law enforcement agencies never cooperate?
