Is there a trade deal with China? Is it really a deal or just a pull-back to status quo ante? Is Trump advancing US interests in this well-executed trade battle plan or was this poorly conceived from the start . . . and harmful?

I think the jury's still out, but I haven't seen that the Chinese are offering much in compromise - and it's not even clear if there's going to be an agreement. But it's clear they are working on something and I'm sure Trump will sell it as the greatest trade deal ever. The proof will be in the details.

So apply tariff. The price increases will be passed down to consumers. Since tariff is a form of regressive tax, it will affect the poorer population more. Then negotiate and remove tariffs but still keeping the price inflated. Profit! And the poor will become poorer. They can just keep doing it as long as people vote for them.

Okay, and we didn’t make that progress then by trying to recreate the past. Not one of those achievements was done by someone pining for days gone by.

And even if that stuff was invented it wasn’t widespread by 1914, IIRC.

I would still put up the last 50-60 years against that litany of achievements. if anything the pace of innovation has sped up.

Dude is senile.

I think he is really really dumb. It's why he does so poorly in debates. The only debate Donald ever won was against Biden's demented husk. Even then, he couldn't answer on topic.

"President Trump, how would you attempt to bring an end to Russia-Ukraine war?"

Trump "I'll tell you how I'll do it. Great question btw, wonderful questions. Don't we have the best questions tonight guys? I would stop this mass of illegal immigrants coming over the border."
