So tonight is night 1 of the Democratic convention and we'll hear from John Kasich and Michelle Obama. Thought it would be good to have a central place as the old PDB days.

Really?! Just learned a lot about CSN in an awesome series called Laurel Canyon; never realized the breadth of his talent, or that Stills had LA roots.

Yeah i only recently discovered that factoid when i saw him wearing an LSU jersey, i think in a YouTube video or a pic on Google.. did a little digging, and turns out he moved a lot as a kid, maybe an army brat not sure, but they lived in Covington for a while then he attended LSU for a year or two but didn’t graduate (sorta like myself lol.)

I always liked CSN(Y) but only in the last few years have a new level of appreciation for their music.

They were part of the soundtrack of my youth. Their music can really take me back. I heard a podcast with Neil Young not long ago, he’s a really kind, kinda quiet guy. Not exactly what I expected. His music had an edge to it, compared to the other three.

Not to derail but you need to watch Echo in Laurel Canyon documentary.

Sounds like AOC has a point
    =============================

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) ripped NBC for a tweet that noted she "did not endorse" 2020 nominee Joe Biden in her 60-second speech at the Democratic National Convention, with the first-term congresswoman calling it "completely unacceptable, disappointing, and appalling."

"In one of the shortest speeches of the DNC, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez did not endorse Joe Biden," NBC News said in its original post to the network's more than 7.7 million followers.

"This is completely unacceptable, disappointing, and appalling," Ocasio-Cortez wrote in response to her 8.3 million followers. "The DNC shared the procedural purpose of my remarks to media WELL in advance. @NBC knew what was going to happen & that it was routine."

"You waited several hours to correct your obvious and blatantly misleading tweet. It sparked an enormous amount of hatred and vitriol, & now the misinfo you created is circulating on other networks," she added. "All to generate hate-clicks from a pre-recorded, routine procedural motion."........................

That's what news networks do. She's just now figuring this out?

She isn't just figuring it out. She's pointing it out. Also making it clear that the main stream media doesn't just do things like that to the right. They've always done it to both sides.

Why are there always attempts to make up look stupid? She's very intelligent even if you don't agree with her.

They do it so that they can get their "horse race" they are looking at double digit Biden leads and are a like shirt, we better come up with something to make this interesting.

Wait I thought Liberal MSM was in the tank for the Dems?

Now AOC is supposed to expect the liberal media is going to attack her baselessly?

    my head is spinning

While a little skeptical of the NBC headline last night, i was disappointed that AOC didnt at least *mention* the current Democratic candidate for President, which is Biden.. While it might not tacitly imply her disapproval of him (although it very well might)- she has a huge platform and the ear of many, many young Americans and i think even a mere mention of Biden from her might have gone a long way towards giving Biden a tiny amount of ‘cred’ (for lack of a better word) amongst the younger demographic... FWIW i am in agreement with AOC that we need more Progressive leadership in the US, but that cant happen til we banish the obese orange Cheeto out of the White House and into Federal PMITA prison... Biden is our ONLY chance to do that.

Exactly how I feel as well. A lot of her supporters pointed this out as well on Twitter.

Hell, case in point. Bernie Sanders stood with the Vermont delegation as they announced their vote. Obviously, Bernie won the primary and the majority of delegates for the state, but they clearly stated their support of Biden as the next president of the United States.

    It doesn't take much.

As a side note... Kudos to the DNC for how they conducted the roll call this year. You saw a lot of regular folk last night, with some well-knowns mixed in. That was pretty well done.

I disagree a bit. There is room imo for someone to not be totally behind Biden but is willing to work within the constructs of his administration imo.

To me full throated endorsements from someone who was just supporting another candidate, or was one themselves (cough Ted Cruz cough) the person comes off wholly disingenuous.
