Not long ago Kari Lake proclaimed Arizona's abortion law was a great law and wanted it the law of the state.

Now that she has gotten her way, she is lobbying for it to be repealed.

As I have been saying since 2022, the overwhelming vast majority of women aren't going to vote for the man who proudly boasts that he got rid of Roe V. Wade. Nor are those women going to vote for a forced birther politician.

Turns out, republican belief in "pro life" was all just lies to get votes. Who is surprised? I sure am not.

How many forced birthers will do the same about face?

Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake is actively lobbying state lawmakers to overturn a 160-year-old law she once supported that bans abortion in almost all cases, a source with knowledge of her efforts told CNN.

A 10 yo body cannot be considered as “built for pregnancy”. There are some really serious risks - physical health risks - for a child that age to take a pregnancy to term and go through childbirth. It could make it impossible for her to have children in the future. It’s barbaric to suggest that a child that age should be forced to have her rapist’s baby. Simply barbaric.

This leaves Louisiana’s IVF clinics and patients with few realistic options, Schilling said: An embryo has to be transferred into a patient, stored forever at the patient’s expense or donated to a married couple. (Embryos cannot be donated to science or to single people.)

For now they've been sending unused frozen embryo's to other states, where they are presumably destroyed. What happens if (when?) Louisiana disallows them from leaving the state for that purpose?

I suspect it's just a matter of time until they try to make that illegal under "human trafficking", and/or facilitation of "murder". Madness. A clump of cells doesn't constitute a person.

Technically, each cell in my skin on my hands has all the genetic material needed to make another "me". Science has made huge strides in making differentiated cells less differentiated. Will these religious zealots eventually consider handwashing to become a criminal act as technology progresses to clone ones' self from a skin cell? I doubt it, even though, IMO, there's no difference in me washing my hands vs a fertility clinic destroying some blastocysts. Hopefully we never have to find out.

This is the consequence of what Trump did to the SCOTUS and what they did to Roe.

Carrying a fetus to bury a baby is Trump’s policy.

At 20 weeks Kylie Beaton’s fetus was diagnosed with alobar holoprosencephaly, where the two hemispheres of the brain don’t properly divide. Babies with this diagnosis are often stillborn or die soon after birth.

Since Kylie wasn’t severely ill and because the fetus had a heartbeat Texas forced her to carry the fetus to term.

Kylie and her husband tried to have an abortion out of state. However, the fetus’s head was enlarged due to its condition, and the only clinic that would perform the abortion charged up to $15,000.00.

Kylie gave birth to Grant. The baby cried constantly and wouldn’t eat. It couldn’t be held upright as that would put too much pressure on his head.

For four days Kylie watched Grant suffer, then she watched him die.

Trump is happy he delivered the blow to Roe.

Nikki Haley appreciates that Texas went more on the “pro-life side.”

Republicans don’t care one bit that Grant suffered. Cried in agony. They don’t care that Kylie and her husband will never recover from this ordeal.

Republicans care about power and control.

Heartless monsters. I dare any one of the anti-abortion members of this board to defend this shirt.

It's up for debate whether Grant was sapient enough to process sensations in the way we think of as "pain", but it had the essential parts to struggle like any other animal.

And if Kylie was the wife/daughter of a Republican politician, judge or donor the abortion would have happened in secrecy

Yeah what it did to his parents, to watch their baby suffer like that, is the very worst part. I would imagine as a parent you never get over that.

And Kylie’s parents watching her suffer through that as well

See, those thoughts require empathy and humanity. Something GOP lawmakers utterly lack.

What I'd like to see is a legal theory and physical practice that allows for abortion under the Castle Doctrine.

"This trespasser was threatening me, so I killed it."

It doesn't even have to be "I killed it." It could just be "I told it that it didn't have to die, but it had to get the hell up outta me."

Kansas would require abortion providers to ask patients why they're terminating their pregnancies and report the answers to the state under a measure moving through the Republican-controlled Legislature. Frustrated Democrats are pointedly suggesting a similar rule for vasectomies and erectile dysfunction.

The state House planned to take a final vote Thursday. The bill would require providers to ask patients 11 questions about their reasons for terminating a pregnancy, including that they can't afford another child, raising a child would hinder their education or careers, or a spouse or partner wanted her to have an abortion. At least seven states require similar reporting.

Backers of the bill argued during a House debate Wednesday that the state needs data so lawmakers can create programs to address their concerns. Opponents saw an attempt to harass abortion providers, shame patients and stigmatize abortion.

Approval in the House would send the measure to the Senate. Both chambers have large anti-abortion majorities, and last year Republicans overrode vetoes of other restrictions on providers by Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly, a strong supporter of abortion rights...............

Isn’t it funny? The woman in Ohio where the jury failed to indict was black. This woman. It’s never a well-to-do white woman getting prosecuted. They have miscarriages also.
