American culture? What the actual fork does that mean?

The halftime show is entertainment while people go to stuff their faces or go to the bathroom. It is not there to unify anything. As for family friendly? According to who? Whose values?

Fork these people.

The owners of all the broadcast networks also own record labels or have financial ties with them. The network that has the Super Bowl always picks an artist that their owner owns the rights too or has financial ties to. The halftime show is much more about promoting in house artists to boost sells than it is about giving the people what they want.

Case in point, Universal Music Group represents Bad Bunny and though Universal Music Group and Comcast Universal NBC don't share any ownership on paper, they do have shares in each other and still cut deals with each other as if they were still corporately connected. Yeah, Jay-Z's Roc Nation chooses the performer for the halftime show, but the network gives a lot of influential guidance to Roc Nation. It's all guided by maximum revenues. That's the only value that is followed.
