There's quite a few countries in China that aren't the same race as what we would call "Chinese."

India, Russia, hell even Israel is Asian.
Sorry, that was a typo. I mean to say " There's quite a few countries in Asia that aren't the same race as what we would call "Chinese.""I didn't realize India, Russia and Israel are located in China. Because that sounds like what you said. So I'm confused as to your point.
I listened to that entire briefing you posted. I don't recall them saying he wasn't contagious...The parade thing is a wash. The Walter Reed doctors said he wasn't contagious then and they approved everything.
I think I have you beat. I was asking one of my neighbors if he had eaten at one of the nicer Chinese restaurants in the area, and he said they won't eat Chinese food because China released the virus on us.

I'd add that the target of their prejudice presumably includes Chinese Americans. That's racism more than nationalism. Assuming a fellow citizen represents another country on the basis of their appearance, perceived ancestry, or type of cuisine provided, is racist. Similar thing with antisemitism claimed to be rooted in opposition to Israel, but directed at Jews who have nothing to do with Israel. There's quite a few countries in China that aren't the same race as what we would call "Chinese."

I'm gonna need clarification here. It's like saying there's numerous French people who aren't European. It doesn't make any sense. There are numerous Chinese who are not Asians.
I never said they were. I said the person you were talking about was racist. I also assume that the person you were talking about was also not thinking about the nuanced racial makeup of the Chinese people. All of China isn't a single race.
It's euphemistic. There's a reason why most white nationalists will adamantly argue that they are not racists.I admit it's splitting hairs a bit. But nationalism is a big problem and I hate that as much as I hate racism.

Additionally, developing that racism because of the origin of a novel coronavirus is ridiculous. And (to get loosely back on topic) for it to have been inflamed by the President is shameful.

Ok, it looks like we're going to be splitting the mother of all hairs here, but once someone becomes a French citizen, they are also a European. As you said, race and nationality are two different things. If you are French, you are European. In furtherance of this point, all French citizens are also granted citizenship by the European Union. There are numerous French people who aren't European. Many are from the Middle East and have become French citizens. Many Europeans have become citizens in China. They're Chinese. They're not of Asian descent.
I smiled and said, "Oh, ok."What did you say to that?
Guys.. can we move on about nationalism vs ethnicity? vs whatever other descriptor you want to use.
