So George Conway is tweeting about how mad he is at the president and his staff for carrying on with events and having low grade protocols.

Dude, nobody made your wife go there. Shouldn’t he be pissed at her?

I'd be mad at both, but wouldn't express both angers publicly.

I think his primary motivation was to point out that some of the secret service agents protecting Trump aren't happy with the irresponsibility of Trump and his staff.

He’s equating her role with that of the USSS agents - they’re rank and file and assigned, they have to be there. She used to be discretionary when she did work there but she doesn’t even work there anymore. She attended because she wanted to share the political moment. It was effectively a social event for her.

George being pissed at the White House for Kelly Ann getting Covid at the ACB event would be like my wife getting pissed at the bar where I got Covid because I wanted to go out and watch the game and have a few beers.

I'm in full agreement that he's drawing a ridiculous comparison, but I don't think he's genuinely making that comparison. I don't think he personally is genuinely pissed at Trump. I have no idea how he and Kellyanne are together, so I have no idea how he feels toward her and don't really want to.

I think he just wanted to retweet the negative story about disgruntled secret service agents. I think that's why all he said was "I relate" which is a weak response for someone that claims to be relating to people who are genuinely pissed for a good reason.

So while the comparison is ridiculous, I don't think he's sincerely pissed or genuinely motivated by being pissed. I think this was just him taking another political shot a Trump. He's as much a troll as his wife. I guess that's the bond that they have.

According to Chris Wallace's doctor, those who have tested negative could test positive in the next 5 days. This could spread really far and wide through the government. Wherever and whenever this spread started could turn into a super spreader event for our government. That wouldn't be good for anyone.

I hope the Trump campaign doesn't try to use this to fuel more division, discontent and distrust.

For sure. Anyone at that event or in close proximity at subsequent events to those who mingled with the known infected need to quarantine or at least keep a very cautious, safe schedule. And get tested daily if possible.

    Most won’t.

I know your correct on the first part. I fear you are also correct on the second part.

Aren’t division and hate the primary tactics Trump and the Republicans have used for many years to gain support? Starting wars and blaming foreigners for all your problems is starting to lose effectiveness. They have to find a new strategy before they stop using the current one.

I don't believe the USSS comments. Not even a little bit. I'll just say that talking to the media about their job is basically putting their careers at risk if they got outed. I'm sure they might not like some of the decisions the President is making, but they're not supposed to be making comments to the media about it, even anonymously. Just too risky and not worth it.

They’re still just regular people. Wasn’t there a scandal involving secret service agents and prostitutes while protecting Mr Obama?

Yeah reading that article it seems to be from multiple sources via different proxies, so I don’t see why this would be some made up story.

It also seems to be a bubbling issue inside the White House according to the reporting, that SS are fed up with how poorly they are being treated. This event likely pushed some over the edge, and who can blame them? They have SO’s and children as well. Must be forking frustrating coming to work and seeing all your employers treat your life amidst a pandemic with utter disregard.

Not really all that shocking considering it was only 2 hours before Trump was taken to the hospital that the White House finally started a policy of mandated masks and social distancing around the White House. Something his own government scientists had been advocating for months now.

The article states that they were discussing the matter among themselves and with friends, not with the media. You would be correct if they were speaking to the media about it, even anonymously, but the article doesn't suggest that they did. Even the comments presumed to be made by USSS members were attributed to others and to "confidants," not the agents themselves. How the media got information from internal discussions and meetings is another matter.
