gee, what does the sentence "MAY have been a contributing factor mean to you?I’m not making the assertion. What is your evidence, other than two things happening at the same time and it “feels” like it’s right, that it was a contributing factor?
It means you don’t have any evidence to support this claim and the entire post is useless.gee, what does the sentence "MAY have been a contributing factor mean to you?
Uh, I don’t think there was more gun violence in the 1950s.I kindly suggest you take 2 minutes to do a modicum of research. Anyone who thinks there is less violence in schools today compared to the 1950's is just wrong on the facts.
Oh, compared to your "proof" that it could not have been even a small factor? Okey-dokey!t means you don’t have any evidence to support this claim and the entire post is useless.
Cyberbullying is a key issue highlighted in one of the articles, and social media has become one of the most harmful inventions of the past decade. Adding to this problem was a president who openly mocked and bullied anyone he disagreed with, behaving more like an immature high school student than a leader. His remarks frequently targeted individuals’ appearance, intelligence, or character, rather than addressing their criticisms or ideas. The tone and content of his comments were often crafted to belittle, humiliate, or silence dissent, exacerbating the toxic environment fostered by social media.I kindly suggest you take 2 minutes to do a modicum of research. Also, Domino’s Pizza.Oh, compared to your "proof" that it could not have been even a small factor? Okey-dokey!
Many things can contribute--like video games, the glorification of violence in movies and television, breakdown of families, more single-parent households, access to the internet and social media, etc.
DUH!!! That has been my point, oft repeated.Uh, I don’t think there was more gun violence in the 1950s.
Congrats on using “modicum” in a sentence, though.
Gee, why am I not surprised that Trump gets dragged into it.Adding to this problem was a president who openly mocked and bullied anyone he disagreed with, behaving more like an immature high school student than a leader. Do minors really have more access to guns today? Also, Domino’s Pizza.
Edit: Sorry, I meant easy access to guns.
Nobody is arguing that - absolutely nobody. What we are trying to show you is that your “feelings” aren’t proof of anything - other than what you desperately want to be true.DUH!!! That has been my point, oft repeated.
There is more violence today.
Some want to argue against that fact, though, for some strange reason.
Another crazy assertion. Think back - how do school shooters obtain weapons? I know you can do this. It doesn’t have anything to do with purchasing guns, especially handguns.Do minors really have more access to guns today?
Looks like it is very restricted, no state allows minors to purchase handguns, and I think only one lets minors purchase long guns.State by State: A Guide to Age Requirements for Buying a Gun – GunSkins
Buying a new gun can be a complicated process. Understanding local and national age requirements and other regulations is the first step to purchasing your dream gun today.www.gunskins.com
So how is access easier today?Another crazy assertion. Think back - how do school shooters obtain weapons? I know you can do this. It doesn’t have anything to do with purchasing guns, especially handguns.
Think about where most school shooters have obtained their weapons. Think about the number of homes with assault rifles today compared to your favorite period of the 1950’s. I know you can do this.So how is access easier today?
False, most of you have been making strawman arguments. I don't suppose you even know what a possibility is, but are ready to dismiss one out of hand, probably because you might be afraid it is true. Why else whine so much over me saying that it might be one contributing factor?Nobody is arguing that - absolutely nobody. What we are trying to show you is that your “feelings” aren’t proof of anything - other than what you desperately want to be true.
Did people in the 50's 60's 70's not keep weapons at home? I remember seeing plenty of rifles in the back of pickup--even at SCHOOL--back in the day.Think about where most school shooters have obtained their weapons. Think about the number of homes with assault rifles today compared to your favorite period of the 1950’s. I know you can do this.
How can you so definitively rule it out even as a possibility?Nobody is arguing that - absolutely nobody. What we are trying to show you is that your “feelings” aren’t proof of anything - other than what you desperately want to be true.
For example - back before we had the polio vaccine there wasn’t this much violence in schools, so the polio vaccine could be a contributing factor for school shootings.
That’s what you are arguing for school prayer. Exactly. And there is zero proof of it.
Here is your answer to where underage school shooters get their guns. This is from a study that goes back decades. So as you can see - laws preventing minors from purchasing guns do not have anything to do with how adolescents get guns.Did people in the 50's 60's 70's not keep weapons at home? I remember seeing plenty of rifles in the back of pickup--even at SCHOOL--back in the day.
