The middle makes the difference once again. Why?

McAuliffe made an error with the school issue to appease the CRT crowd. A costly strategic error.

On another note CNN described Michelle Wu a moderate as the first woman of color to be mayor. The media recruiting minorities.

You guys take a poll of all the conservative you hang out with and get back to me. Otherwise, just stick to your propaganda to keep you in fear of big bad Trump. Whatever works for your fear and outrage. That is is all they care about anyway.

You guys have to link Trump to racist/white nationalist. Trump = racist.
The media needs you to believe this so that they can continue to racist/white supremacy narrative. That is all they have left in their playbook. They cannot win elections without it. That much is obvious.

ETA: After thinking on this briefly:

Maybe I am wrong too. Maybe the more the media shows us that Trump was 100% correct on the corruption and activitist of the media that people are waking up and saying "yep, crazy man was right after all". I know I personally didn't like some of his rhetoric but I will be damned if most of it turned out to be 100% true.

You guys convinced me. I stand with Trump 100%. You guys are very good at persuasion. Cheers to you guys! Well done!!

Weak. Not addressing the question at hand.

Explain why McConnell and over 40 other Republican Senators bent the knee for Trump and acquitted him during his 2nd impeachment trial in Feb 2021. You've been asked to do this several times.

If Trump has very little popularity in the Republican Party, then it should have been very easy for McConnell and 40 other Republican Senators to cast him aside and convict him. Especially when Trump was NO LONGER PRESIDENT.

You have no explanation or answer for this, other than your sarcastic response. You should just admit that you are wrong, but that ain't happening.

Wow, long thread about my home state.

Without reading any of it, here's the simple reason.

Virginia always chooses the most moderate candidate. Always.

Yes, the state has looked "blue" lately, but that is because the state GOP primaries had been churning out Trump clones (and Trump himself) for the last decade. The democrat was always the most moderate choice. The GOP finally realized that they can't win with candidates like that, and switched to a convention system in 2020, which produced Mr. Sweater Vest Glenn Cares About Your Kids Youngkin.
Meanwhile, McAuliffe has never been popular in VA. He's too liberal for the state, and only won in 2013 because his opponent Ken Cuocinelli was so extreme, a libertarian candidate was able to step in and play spoiler with 6% of the vote. McAuliffe only got 47% of the vote, and never had a good approval rating as governor. If Youngkin ran in 2013 he would have beaten him then too.

Thats all there is to it.

The noise about critical race theory, the Biden administration, etc, is just noise. Moderate voters voted for the moderate candidate, and not the New Yorker who is BFF's with the Clintons. WTF was the VA democratic party thinking?

This is a pointless debate. How do you prove that there are only a handful of Trump supporters out there vs 74 million supporters? You can't "prove it" either way.

You don't read good do you?

Apparently, you don't. Because none of those quotes have anything to do with my question about McConnell and Republicans bending the knee for Trump. Which you have still failed to address in any coherent manner.

Good post and fair take. This makes a lot more sense than 'Virginians are racist'.

They are politicians and they want to get reelected would be my guess. What is yours?

What do you mean? Only 7 Republican Senators voted to convict Trump. 7 out of 50.

Sure looks like your GOP is terrified of Trump to me.
I don't know and I am too lazy to look up it because my level caring about Trump and the impeachments are below zero, but if I was a gambling man, I would bet that most, if not all of those 7 were from purple states.

Even if that were true, you're still contradicting yourself.

You said Trump has very little support left in the GOP. Yet 43 out of 50 Republican Senators protected this traitor during his 2nd impeachment, even though he was no longer President in Feb 2021.

The only explanation is this -- You are 100% wrong in your opinion.

Why do you even bother pretending like you don't support Trump? You sure did while he was in office. Why would he suddenly lose your support because he's only the figurehead of the GOP but no longer president? You loved everything he did and cheered on what he did to the GOP as a whole. You've even taken on his style of "pwn the libs no matter what" as being the single most important facet of the GOP "platform."

I mean, you are quite literally, the embodiment of a Trump fanboi with your thoughts, words, deeds, and whatever else you express out loud on this board. Why should we believe you because you say you aren't a Trumpist when you couldn't pass for anything but that if your posts were anonymized and given to a neutral party to read?

Donald Trump wouldn't rent to black people until he was sued, and required by his settlement agreement. It's insane to me, that you see Donald Trump as a VICTIM of racist accusations. The man has lawsuits proving the point. You should find another hill to die on.

I guess I will lay this out again for everyone.
Do I like/support Trump? I do for his policies. 100%. Do you I think your reaction to anything Trump is comical, I do, just like you probably think the same out Biden. Do I like Trump as a person. I don't know him but I would think no.

Do I want Trump to run again? No. Do I want someone like Romney, Cheney, McConnell or republican like them to run for president? No. They are not nearly conservative enough for me. Not by a long shot. Do I want someone like Trump to run. Yes. Why not specifically Trump? Because I don't like his mannerism and I find it counter productive to actually moving the American first platform forward. Will I vote for Trump against a Democrat. Yes. Will I ever vote Democrat? No, not ever again.
Any other riddles you guys have?

Watch more news from your party.
Why rant at us about it? Nobody here is saying that nor defending people who say that. It’s a stupid argument to make.

In fact, I would be willing to bet you have only seen it in snippets on your favored sources.

Here they are, in no particular order.

    Richard Burr, NC
    Lisa Murkowski, AK
    Ben Sasse, NE
    Bill Cassidy, LA
    Susan Collins, ME
    Mitt Romney, UT
    Pat Toomey, PA

not too many “purple” states, really. 🤷‍♀️
