Anxiety surges as Donald Trump may be indicted soon: Why 2024 is 'the final battle' and 'the big one'

WASHINGTON – It looks like American politics is entering a new age of anxiety, triggered by an unprecedented legal development: The potential indictment of a former president and current presidential candidate.

Donald Trump's many legal problems – and calls for protests by his followers – have generated new fears of political violence and anxiety about the unknowable impact all this will have on the already-tense 2024 presidential election

I’ll reframe this is a more accurate way, Are Presidents above the law? This new age was spurred into existence when home grown dummies elected a corrupt, mentally ill, anti-democratic, would be dictator as President and don’t bother to hold him responsible for his crimes, don’t want to because in the ensuing mayhem and destruction, they think they will be better off. The man is actually advocating violence (not the first time). And btw, screw democracy too. If this feeling spreads, we are In deep shirt.

This goes beyond one treasonous Peice of work and out to all his minions. This is on you or should we be sympathetic to the idea of they can’t help being selfish suckers to the Nation’s detriment? Donald Trump is the single largest individual threat to our democracy and it‘s all going to boil down to will the majority of the GOP return to his embrace and start slinging his excrement to support him?

Is someone making stuff up again? I think I'd need citations for Harris campaigning on "teachers aren't allowed to talk to parents about their children" and "kids are property of the state."

Pretty sure the platform was more universal preschool for four-year olds, literacy programs, fully funding the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, expanding college grants, that kind of thing.

And not "the state owns your kids."
    Oh I agree

I just meant if that was your point of view, and Joe certainly implied that it was

NONE of the points he mentioned is part of Harris Campaign policy

Mine, in response to what you said.
Okay. Well you and I are not in total agreement on school choice or on parental rights. Im assuming that you are closer to Harris‘s policy position than I. Unless you are trying to tell me that she and I agree on either one of these points?

Harris policy position is NOT what you falsely claim.

Chris Columbus has said he has a Donald Trump-shaped albatros around his neck.

The American director admitted that his decision to include the U.S. president in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is akin to a curse on the much-loved franchise.

In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Columbus said he would like to cut the seven-second cameo from the 1992 movie, but worries he will be deported by the Trump administration.

“It's become this curse. It's become this thing that I wish it was not there,” he said, later adding: “It's become an albatross for me. I just wish it was gone."

"I can't cut it," said Columbus, who has Italian ancestry. "If I cut it, I'll probably be sent out of the country. I'll be considered sort of not fit to live in the United States, so I'll have to go back to Italy or something."

It is not the first time Columbus has lamented Trump’s cameo. He told Business Insider in 2023 that Trump allowed him to film in The Plaza Hotel in exchange for an appearance in the movie.

The scene made the final cut, with Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin McCallister asking Trump for directions to the lobby. “Down the hall and to the left,” Trump responds.

“When we screened it for the first time, the oddest thing happened: People cheered when Trump showed up on-screen. So I said to my editor, ‘Leave him in the movie. It's a moment for the audience.'”

He added that Trump “did bully his way into the movie,” a suggestion that the president bristled at in 2023. Trump said he was begged to appear in the film: "That cameo helped make the movie a success. But if they felt bullied, or didn't want me, why did they put me in, and keep me there for over 30 years?"............

The fact that I posted her entire policy earlier on this page and none of the points you mentioned is anywhere in it....
Where in this thread did I say what her actual policy was? I said that we differed on said policy and I gave my point of view. I dont recall asserting anything specific to Harris.

Im still waiting on you to give me a reference to one of her “old time republican policy” positions. I am sure you have it at your fingertips or you wouldnt have made such a claim.

"I support parental rights to be made aware of things that affect their children. Kids are not property of the state. Secondly, I favor school choice."

Shifting to another area when called out once again. Just show me where she says that kids are prooerty of the state?

    That is the ENTIRE point

you haven't said her actual policy or your actual disagreements with it

    "I disagree with Harris"

    About what?

    "Her policy"

What about her policy don't you like?

    "The part I disagree with"

The one time you offer something semi specific that you were against Harris on: parental rights, school choice, kids property of the state

    Is still

    A. Vague

    B. Incorrect

When asked to further elaborate you're still evasive and tap dance around it

Here‘s a clue for you. When I start a sentence with “I support” thats usually followed by my position. It was in this case. I did not state her position.

But the actual point being made here is that she and I agree on very little when it comes to policy. She isn‘t, as you represented, an “old time republican”. So why would I vote to support a candidate with whom I disagree on many of the issues which are important to me? If your answer is that she is not Trump, my response is that I didnt vote for him either.

Got that reference to old time republican policy. Speaking of debating honestly.

I am done with you. You are not debating honestly. I have over the last many months provided detailed information on many topics that you asked for and you still haven't mentioned ANY part of Harris policy that you are against or provided any sources or actually policies that you were against.. So until you do that - I am done wasting my time

YOU said she was an old time republican like there should be tons of moderate conservative policy positions of hers I should agree with. You are hammering me for specifics and yet you cant back up your “old time republican” policy remark by naming a single policy. And then you claim I dont debate honestly.

Well thats the pot calling the kettle black. So perhaps it is better we dont converse until you hold yourself to your own standard. I‘m perfectly fine with that.
