Anxiety surges as Donald Trump may be indicted soon: Why 2024 is 'the final battle' and 'the big one'

WASHINGTON – It looks like American politics is entering a new age of anxiety, triggered by an unprecedented legal development: The potential indictment of a former president and current presidential candidate.

Donald Trump's many legal problems – and calls for protests by his followers – have generated new fears of political violence and anxiety about the unknowable impact all this will have on the already-tense 2024 presidential election

I’ll reframe this is a more accurate way, Are Presidents above the law? This new age was spurred into existence when home grown dummies elected a corrupt, mentally ill, anti-democratic, would be dictator as President and don’t bother to hold him responsible for his crimes, don’t want to because in the ensuing mayhem and destruction, they think they will be better off. The man is actually advocating violence (not the first time). And btw, screw democracy too. If this feeling spreads, we are In deep shirt.

This goes beyond one treasonous Peice of work and out to all his minions. This is on you or should we be sympathetic to the idea of they can’t help being selfish suckers to the Nation’s detriment? Donald Trump is the single largest individual threat to our democracy and it‘s all going to boil down to will the majority of the GOP return to his embrace and start slinging his excrement to support him?

Trump has filed a legal challenge against Harris using the funds from the previous joint campaign. It looks to be as frivolous as most of his legal filings. Even the WSJ calls it a long shot. I am taking it as a token of the fear he has of running against her.

“The Biden-Harris campaign committee had both names on it from the beginning of this cycle, meaning funds donated for the primary could be used by either name on the joint ticket, said Kenneth Gross, senior counsel at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld in Washington, D.C. Gross previously worked as an associate general counsel in the FEC’s enforcement division.

“It’s her money,” Gross said. “She was on the original statement of candidacy as a candidate when the committee was registered. It doesn’t matter that she was the VP candidate in the primary process and votes were for Biden.””

Those hoping to join Donald Trump’s exclusive Mar-a-Lago club in Florida will soon have to shell out $1 million to cover an initiation fee—a sharp increase from years past.

The latest price hike will go into effect in October, just a month before the 2024 presidential election. The new fee is a roughly 40 percent increase from its current price of $700,000, which itself was a significant jump from the $200,000 new members were charged in 2017.

The latest price change was revealed by the club’s manager, Bernd Lembcke, in a recent interview with Bloomberg, where he claimed the price hike was merely an issue of supply and demand. He said there’s only four spots available for new members.

“We are going up to $1 million because we have four memberships to sell,” he said. “We are not desperate.”............

Confirmation from Trump’s nephew about how Trump feels about disabled people. Even his own relatives. It’s appalling.

In short his nephew (brother’s son) has a disabled child. The nephew and wife became involved with advocating for families with disabled children and after Trump was elected they asked for a meeting to make the case for increasing support. Trump listened to the entire presentation and seemed engaged, but asked to speak privately to the nephew and told him maybe those people should just die.

Later he even told his nephew that maybe he should let his son die because “he doesn’t recognize you”. All the nephew could say was - that’s not true, he does recognize me.

    Trump the trump orange Jesus.

Not surprising. Remember when he mocked the handicapped reporter?

Former President Trump said there should be a one-year jail sentence for anyone who desecrates the American flag in the wake of anti-Israel protests over the war in Gaza outside Union Station in Washington, D.C., that included a group burning an American flag.

Trump, who has previously called for criminalizing burning the flag, scoffed at those who point out it’s not illegal to do so.

“You should get a one-year jail sentence if you do anything to desecrate the American flag,” Trump said Wednesday on “Fox & Friends” when asked about the protests.

“Now, people will say, ‘Oh, it’s unconstitutional.’ Those are stupid people. Those are stupid people that say that,” the former president continued. “We have to work in Congress to get a one-year jail sentence. When they’re allowed to stomp on the flag and put lighter fluid on the flag and set it afire, when you’re allowed to do that — you get a one-year jail sentence, and you’ll never see it again.”…..

Would that include hanging it upside down. That is also considered desecrating a flag. I won’t even get into the clothing side of things. I am not a fan of any clothing that is the American flag. I was a marine, you respect the flag and that includes making clothing out of it which is against flag rules.

I am against any laws enforcing flag rules, as we are a free country and have the right to free speech.

I'm sure he's talking about term limits, right? RIGHT!?!

They’re going to have to find a way to spin this. He’s pretty explicit - vote me in and you won’t ever have to vote again.

I’m really hoping this gains some traction, and that the “both sides” denialism about how abnormal Trump is, and how abnormal the GOP has become to support this, can finally stop.

There’s no more hint of a “quiet part”. Donald Trump can’t even lie when it would help him. It’s all vomit dropping out of his mouth.

    1. He finally admits to his base that he’s not a Christian. Most of us already knew that.

    2. He admits that if he wins, he’s planning on this being America’s last election.

    3. Make sure you are registered to vote. Double check. Local elections are more important than ever. vote.org

How is mainstream media not running as the premier headline:

    TRUMP, "I'm not a Christian".

They can spin his other statements but this part of his speech is too clear to defend.

I saw Gabe Sterling post online that Trump is talking to Christian low turnout voters, and that is what he means, not that there won’t be an election in 2028.

I see several issues with that:

    1. He doesn’t say that at all, he just says Christians. Many times.

    2. How many Christians are there who routinely don’t vote? I have the impression that they turn out in huge numbers.

    3. And last, what would make him think those low-voting Christians are at his rally in West Palm Beach?

I would be happy to review further video from that speech.

This lady is a loon and it's surprising that anyone takes her seriously. She knows she's lying, but she's not even good at it

Instead of mocking, I'm going to take the high road and explain. You're free to pretend not to understand, but here it is: He's saying he's only going to ask Christians to vote this one time because when he's done in 4 years everything will be going so well they won't need to vote, i.e. the GOP candidate won't need their vote because they'll be in such great shape they can win without it.

Dispute the sentiment on its merits all you like. Just don't distort the obvious meaning to fuel your imaginary grievance. Your decades of devotion to the study of dictatorship have not served you well, I'm afraid.

There’s ALWAYS an excuse for Trump.
    Always.

She's a professor of history at NYU. She said something you didn't like. That is not lying.
