I figured we needed a thread specifically about the media.

There was a very big correction recently by the Washington Post.

That story was supposedly "independently confirmed" by CNN, NBC News, USA Today, ABC News, & PBS News Hour. How could they all have gotten the quote wrong if they actually independently confirmed the story?

Why do all the errors always go in one political direction and not closer to 50/50?

The inability of the media to acknowledge Trump’s crazy words and actions is damning.

For all his whinging, large media wants Trump to win. Chaos is entertaining, chaos generates clicks. The C-suites aren't going to feel any of the fallout, their kids are privately educated, their mistresses will have access to abortions, just like their daughters and wives. Big Money is quite content to watch it all burn because televising the fire makes money.

Yes, the idea that large media outlets have a bias towards democrats is just completely false. It’s gaslighting. They have a bias toward engagement.

But they said they learned their lesson after 2016

Wednesday was a big night for cable news, which is not something we’ve said a lot recently.

Two of the three big cable-news channels aired programming featuring the top three candidates for the Republican presidential nomination. On Fox News, Donald Trump engaged in a cozy chat with a room loaded with supporters. On CNN, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley argued over which of them should be in second place to Trump. Entertaining stuff, all around.

The ratings mirrored the candidates’ positions in the polls. Trump’s Fox News show averaged 4.3 million viewers, a bit under twice the 2.5 million that CNN garnered. But CNN probably wasn’t complaining; that’s three times the viewership in that slot the week before.

It’s a good reminder that Trump in particular is good for ratings. Data released by the ratings agency Nielsen at the end of 2023 shows how ratings for cable-news channels dropped after Trump left office — but have risen since the period before he was central to American politics...........

MyPillow, the bedding company founded by conservative activist Mike Lindell, has long been a prominent sponsor for Fox News, its commercials comfortably woven into the fabric of the network’s programming over the past decade.

But the partnership appears to have hit a wall.

On Friday, Lindell announced on Stephen K. Bannon’s podcast that his company’s media-buying agency was told this week that the network would no longer accept MyPillow advertisements.

Lindell told The Washington Post that they got no explanation for the decision, but he thinks it’s connected to his hiring of former Fox host Lou Dobbs to anchor shows on his website FrankSpeech.com. Dobbs’s first guest, on Monday, was former president Donald Trump.

But a person with knowledge of the situation who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment said the partnership has not been canceled but rather paused because Lindell has failed to pay for his ads since August…….

The MyPillow chief, Mike Lindell, a close ally and cheerleader for Donald Trump and his bogus stolen election claims, is expanding his own conspiratorial TV network, while aggressively stumping for Trump again and fighting defamation lawsuits from two electronic voting firms, one of which wants over $1bn in damages.

The moves by Lindell show the continuing presence of powerful parts of the pro-Trump movement, undeterred by the extensive legal peril their false claims of election fraud due to electronic voting machines have caused them. His expansion of his television network also shows the growing power of rightwing media as the 2024 race for the White House gets under way, and its ability to elevate conspiracy theories.

Lindell, a gaudy Maga loyalist who has spent millions of dollars pushing falsehoods about electronic voting machines to get rid of them, told the Guardian he had hired the ex-Fox Business star Lou Dobbs, a fellow election conspiracist and Trump ally, who now has his own show on Lindell TV.

Dobbs’s five-day-a-week show debuted on Monday at 7pm eastern time with a sycophantic Trump interview that sparked instant factchecks for his false claim that gas in the US was now selling for as much as “five, six, seven, even eight dollars a gallon”. Trump also suggested the economy would crash before long and voiced hopes it happens in the next year, which could help his campaign.

Besides Dobbs, Lindell said the TV evening lineup weekdays will feature his own program, plus shows starring Steve Bannon and Roger Stone, both Trump loyalists who are well-known for trafficking in election conspiracies.

Bannon and Stone received pardons from Trump in the weeks before he left office after they, respectively, had been indicted for defrauding investors in a Mexican wall scheme and convicted of lying to Congress.

Another host is Emerald Robinson, who was pushed out of Newsmax for peddling wacky theories about bioluminescent markers in Covid vaccines.

Since 2021 when he launched his TV network on his own platform, dubbed FrankSpeech.com, Lindell said he has poured $14m into the two pro-Maga ventures.

“We’re trying to expand my network,” said Lindell, who boasted that “I have 3 million people on Lindell TV and Frank Speech”.…….

    THE PROPAGANDA PRESS: WAPO EDITION

    - Early January: The Biden campaign organized a series of “off the record trips for top political reporters.”

NYT, WAPO and other media orgs were included. The campaign allegedly used the meetings to let the media know “what they’re getting wrong."

    - January 12: Biden lets the media know that the economy is great, but he’s just not getting the credit.

    - January 14: WAPO employs six writers to let its readers know that the economy is great, but Joe Biden just isn't getting the credit.

Corporate media exists to serve as a propaganda arm for the DNC and the Biden administration.

For 2024, they will be taking direct orders from the Biden campaign, and executing those orders dutifully.

However much you hate corporate media, it isn’t enough.

So this is from a blog, and is completely unsourced. Even if it is true, however, I didn’t see anything wrong with what they said happened. Explain what you think happened that was wrong.

The part I bolded is unsupported opinion, actually the second sentence is pure propaganda.

No it doesn’t prove anything, except opinions of news coverage. GG is being dishonest here and drawing a conclusion that is completely unsupported. He’s playing you for a fool.
It's shows how you are so easily propagandized by the corporate media. You either don't realize it or you don't care.

A blog. Is that a new spin on your it's an opinion piece and it should be ignored? You need new tactics because yours are old and transparent.

Do you think it's good for the media to be lapdog for Biden?
