I figured we needed a thread specifically about the media.

There was a very big correction recently by the Washington Post.

That story was supposedly "independently confirmed" by CNN, NBC News, USA Today, ABC News, & PBS News Hour. How could they all have gotten the quote wrong if they actually independently confirmed the story?

Why do all the errors always go in one political direction and not closer to 50/50?

I do, that is why when he so bravely stood up to the 'misinformation' I knew, by my critical eye, that he was simply virtue signaling and then the other lemmings joined in and then they also quietly put their 'art' back on the Spotify.
Another reading comprehension fail.

@Farb - You don’t know anything, really. Your speculation that music was pulled off and then put back by the artist(s) (now you’re alleging it was more than Young?) appears to be made up out of whole cloth.

The most likely thing that happened (IF some music was in fact originally deleted and then returned) is that someone at Spotify pulled off music by the artist that wasn’t actually under their control, the people who actually control the music objected and pointed that out, and Spotify returned the music that was mistakenly pulled.

We really need a tin foil hat emoji.

It appears some of Neil Young’s music has quietly stayed at Spotify after the rocker announced last month that he was removing his catalog from the streaming platform.

Although his complete catalog list isn't available on the streaming website, Wonderwall notes that Young's music from "soundtracks or other events that featured him but were released by other entities" are still on his page. For example, the outlet notes that his "Heart of Gold" song is there due to the "Eat, Pray, Love" soundtrack.

The 76-year-old ignited a protest against Spotify for airing an episode from Joe Rogan’s podcast that featured Dr. Robert Malone, an infectious disease specialist who has been banned from Twitter for spreading COVID misinformation.

Reps for Young didn’t immediately respond to FOX Business’ request for comment. A spokesperson from Warner Bros. Records told FOX Business "no comment or statement." A rep for Spotify did not return FOX Business' request for comment on if this content will be removed
.

Rule #1, don't let your virtue signaling get in the way of your bottom dollar. So brave.

After Powderfinger, this is my favorite Neil Young song:

From his shocking pinks album. He's pink too.

:)

You'll always have Kid Rock, don't be such a little birch. Ever tried to get your address changed with everyone all at once? These musicians get $0.003per stream. Some decided not to be his bitches any longer. They fund his arse. Let him say what he wants, the guy who used to get people to swallow weird disgusting shyte. He told us what he was. Let him blow. Social distancing. You'll acclimate. Were you going to see Neil in the near future?

Honestly, I didn't know he was alive until he virtued signaled a few weeks ago. Good for the old timer I say. Keep on rocking in the free world, as long as your opinions match mine!

Except I do. This is was the definition of virtue signaling, was it not?

No, it’s not. 🤦‍♀️
Young publicly made the announcement when in fact he could not actually do it since he doesn't even own most of his music any longer. He got the pub, he got the blue checkmarks to applaud and to attack an opinion he disagreed with in the hopes of canceling the guy that gave the opinion a chance to be heard. He was probably the hit at the bingo hall for a few days.
Then, when he realized that going 'woke' was costing him money, he or the owners of the music put the music back up so they can continue to make money with no public announcement.
He was not alone, Jonie Mitchell (?), the wee little prince and princess, Brene Brown (?),Niles Lofgrin (?) and someone named India Aria or something. Care to be how long they stay off spotify if they are already not back on it?

yeah, that is the textbook definition of virtue signaling.

Edited to Ad: That is don't take long. Notice the headline quote. She is a brave brave woman. I am thinking a statue is in order for this woke crusader. I wont even bother to look up any more of the crusaders.

@Farb - got any back up for that? From a good source? Or I should say a normal, non-rabid right wing source?

Powderfinger and Long May You Run and Red Sun are my faves....
I like them all, all of his songs, your selections are great picks from among them.

:)

This one is another highly feature song I spent months learning how to sing and pick out the notes on my guitar.

Yeah well, that's why you are what you are. I hear he's devastated by your rejection. See Lee Greenwood.

Once, long ago and far away....I could play the entire song, it's a catchy little pickin thang....one of the best ever written IMO.....

His music catalog spans 60 years. And you're concerned about songs he couldn't pull because he doesn't solely own the rights to them? Figures.
