I figured we needed a thread specifically about the media.

There was a very big correction recently by the Washington Post.

That story was supposedly "independently confirmed" by CNN, NBC News, USA Today, ABC News, & PBS News Hour. How could they all have gotten the quote wrong if they actually independently confirmed the story?

Why do all the errors always go in one political direction and not closer to 50/50?

I don’t believe I made such a statement. Both parties endorse different policies. Some I agree with and some I do not. If agreeing with all the party policies were a prerequisite for support, I don’t believe we could hold an election in this country.

There are some issues that neither party will address. The debt and deficit. The upcoming funding crisis in entitlement spending. Just to name a couple.

The “parties” can claim roughly 1/3 of eligible voters apiece and roughly 1/3 of eligible voters call themselves independent. That percentage is growing.

I don’t vote for the party. I’ve said that several times.

When you vote for people that toe the party line, you do. Keep on lying to yourself, though, if that's what helps you justify your support of people that enable corrupt, self-serving, disgusting behavior.

Just to show how to right TampaJoe is, Rich McCormick a Republican congressman in Georgia's 7th district. He tried this same false equivalency BS, and was loudly boo'ed by Republicans. This district is a safe Republican district, and very red. The crowd appears old, and white. This is the GOP base. Below is the video, you can hear the Biden answer about a minute in.

It's a good reminder that the conserative posters on this board are far more extreme than actual conserative voters.

Hope they didn’t vote for Trump but I doubt that. What would be the reasons for a group of old and white people voted for Trump? Probably not about the economy or taxes. So fork them.

The difference is that I don't think the Democratic party is disgusting and corrupt. If you do, show me some evidence.
The difference is that I don’t care for whom you vote. I’m just one of several million who want no part of belonging to either party. If that bothers you then that is something you will have to deal with.

The U.S. is a representative democracy, meaning you elect officials to advocate for your views in Congress. If your chosen representative openly supported Trump’s policies before the election, then by voting for them, you knowingly endorsed Trump’s agenda.

I have no problem with that sentiment. My issue lies with people who can't even have an honest conversation because the bubble protecting them from reality is so fragile that the tiniest amount of critical thought will burst it. If that bothers you then that is something you will have to deal with.

There are some things in the Trump agenda with which I agree and there are others with which I disagree. The same could be said for Biden. So I doubt you will be able to make the case that I support Biden or the Democrats Party.

Yes the US is a representative democracy. Do you even know what that means? It doesn’t mean you support 100 percent of the agenda of the party to which your representative happens to belong. That’s just plain stupid. There are lots of people out there that don’t belong to either party. In fact, there are many who may have voted for a candidate from one party at the top of the ticket and another candidate from the opposite party in the down ballot races. I get you folks who believe in following in lockstep think that everyone thinks and vote like you. Hate to disappoint. Many of us reserve the right to either agree or disagree with the party line on the issues of our choosing. That’s real democracy in a free society. Not everybody votes like you. We aren’t all sheep.

You never answered the question many of us asked you. Which of Trumps policies did you like. You just wrote that you liked some of them so please elaborate. It must be something very important since you voted for a person who supported Trumps policy of dismantling society. So what is it that matters so much to you?

We have all shared what matters for us but maybe what matters to you is something that you are ashamed of saying?

It’s your issue. You deal with it.

I like his general approach to enforcing border policy versus the prior administration. I generally favor fewer regulations than more. I favor an approach that makes us more energy independent and lowers the price of oil globally that feeds the Russian and Iranian economies. I support doing a deep dive into how and where we spend our money. I think the Dems ought to join the act and bring forth recommendations that conservatives might not.

Those are a few. Shouldn’t surprise you as I am a conservative. I do not endorse or approve of Trumps management style or his communication strategy. I find it divisive and juvenile. Unnecessary.

Neither party give a crap about unity and yet that could be our greatest strength.

Just stop. You’ve said some version of this statement many times

“There are things Trump and the GOP have done that I hate, there are things Biden and the Dems have done that I liked”

But when asked you never elaborate on what any of those things are

    But don’t feel bad

None of our “both sides” posters ever do

I have said it many times. Its a simple concept and one a person of average intelligence should be able to understand.
