This is going to need a thread as we move forward - there are now clear signs that Trump supports a new, critical if not dubious approach on vaccination, and his HHS nominee RFK Jr. regularly espouses eating raw milk and raw meat . . . dietary components most experts agree are more dangerous than their heated counterparts.

Health is certainly one of those areas were anti-institutionalism and turning to popular influencers over medical science comes with genuine risk of harm.

Today Trump provided his most clear indication that he is a vaccine skeptic - claiming (falsely of course) that the USA doesn't "do as well" as other nations that use no vaccines at all.

Dr. Oz should have to prove that he’s worth a warm bucket of spit. Grifting quack.

This is getting ridiculous. People are being lied to.

A post commenting on this from a doctor who doesn’t want his posts linked in outside sites:

“Whooping cough (pertussis) is also known as “100 day cough” bc it can cause 100 days of coughing so severe that rib fractures are common. It also makes small children stop breathing without warning, often fatally.

Vaccination can prevent up to 89% of infections but requires boosting every few years.”

This is just awful. These are preventable diseases and preventable deaths. RFK, Jr is a dangerous psychopath.

After the U.S. surpassed 1,000 reported measles cases nationwide, it’s clear the Trump administration is failing to protect our health and well-being. The measles outbreak in Texas is now the largest since 2000, when the country eliminated measles. And it’s not yet over, threatening to make measles endemic in America again, where the risk of infection comes from within our country.

Furthermore, two unvaccinated school-aged children in Texas died from measles, the first American children to die from the viral infection since 2003.

Normally, a preventable infection causing avoidable deaths of children would lead to prompt government action. In 1991, I was a medical student with the U.S. Public Health Service in Philadelphia during a large measles outbreak. Over 1,000 people were infected, and nine children died. Government and public health leaders required home visits of infected children, mass immunization, education efforts and even court-mandated vaccinations. The outbreak was stopped.

In Dec. 2014, a measles outbreak began at Disneyland and spread in communities with low vaccination rates. Public health action stopped this large outbreak at 125 cases.”

RFK, Jr is doing the opposite of helping. He is actively making things much, much worse.

“Kennedy reduced vaccine outreach, removed key public health officials, spread disinformation from his official post and suppressed data while elevating conspiracy theorists to top positions.

Kennedy and the Department of Government Efficiency fired a quarter of Health and Human Services staff, gutting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Institutes of Health teams vital to outbreak response. He installed anti-vaccine extremists as advisors, including David Grier, a discredited researcher disciplined for unethical experiments on children with autism, to “research” if vaccines cause autism, despite decades of research debunking this myth.

The CDC has been muzzled: An analysis showing high rates of measles in low vaccination areas was suppressed, and dozens of Texas vaccination clinics were forced to close. When Kennedy dismantled the CDC’s communication team, his former anti-vaccine organization, Children’s Health Defense, filled the void with disinformation by publishing a fake CDC-branded vaccine “safety” website that falsely linked vaccines to autism. The site mimicked official CDC design and branding, deliberately misleading the public.

After news reports exposed the deception and forced the site’s removal, no federal action has been taken to investigate or prosecute this unlawful impersonation of a federal agency.”

Furthermore, Dr. Peter

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s handling of the avian flu crisis isn’t just bad policy — it’s reckless endangerment on a global scale. First, he canceled $760 million in funding for Moderna to develop mRNA vaccines against bird flu, gutting one of America’s most promising defenses against a potential H5N1 outbreak. The virus is deadly, unpredictable, and already jumping to mammals. But instead of preparing, Kennedy pulled the plug.

Worse, he’s suggested letting the virus “spread naturally” through poultry to find birds with natural immunity. That’s not science — that’s viral roulette. Every uncontrolled infection increases the risk of a mutation that could make bird flu transmissible between humans. That’s how pandemics start. And his argument against vaccinating poultry — claiming it could turn flocks into “mutation factories” — is pure pseudoscience. Experts worldwide support vaccination as a key containment tool. His anti-vax ideology is now sabotaging actual pandemic prevention.

This isn’t just about U.S. chickens or egg prices. Avian flu knows no borders. If H5N1 mutates and spreads, it won’t matter where it started — we’ll all feel the impact. Kennedy’s misinformation isn’t bold leadership. It’s dangerous ignorance. And I do know what I am talking about. I hold a degree in Agronomy from the royal agricultural university in Copenhagen with a specialty in genetics and disease prevention!

And the world can’t afford it.

And the stupid continues...

The GOP is firing on all cylinders this week! Guess the are stretching their legs before the Dear Leader's parade.

Saw that. Apparently he said it was necessary to “re-establish public confidence in vaccine science”.

The thing that will do the most to re-establish public confidence in vaccine science would be the removal of RFK, Jr. having anything to do with vaccines.

There's no better way to establish confidence in "vaccine science" than to remove the scientist that have practical knowledge of vaccines! :9:

Don’t worry new group won’t be anti vaxxers

Yesterday, I retired 17 members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices or ACIP, the @CDCgov external panel that wields the grave responsibility of adding new vaccines to the recommended childhood schedule.

Over the coming days, I will use this platform to announce new members to populate ACIP.

None of these individuals will be ideological anti-vaxxers.

They will be highly credentialed physicians and scientists who will make extremely consequential public health determinations by applying evidence-based decision-making with objectivity and common sense.

I will also be tweeting examples of the historical corruption at ACIP to help the public understand why this clean sweep was necessary………..

He is a forking liar

NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Wednesday named eight new vaccine policy advisers to replace the panel that he abruptly dismissed earlier this week.

They include a scientist who researched mRNA vaccine technology and transformed into a conservative darling for his criticisms of COVID-19 vaccines, and a leading critic of pandemic-era lockdowns.

Kennedy’s decision to “retire” the previous 17-member panel was widely decried by doctors’ groups and public health organizations, who feared the advisers would be replaced by a group aligned with Kennedy’s desire to reassess — and possibly end — longstanding vaccination recommendations.

The new appointees to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices include Dr. Robert Malone, the former mRNA researcher who emerged as a close adviser to Kennedy during the measles outbreak.

Malone, who runs a wellness institute and a popular blog, rose to popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic as he relayed conspiracy theories around the outbreak and the vaccines that followed. He has appeared on podcasts and other conservative news outlets where he’s promoted unproven and alternative treatments for measles and COVID-19…..::

Meet the non anti vaxxers on the the committee
======================

Dr. Robert W. Malone….

He runs a wellness institute and a popular blog, and has been active on social media and in various outlets. He rose to prominence during the pandemic, relaying conspiracy theories about the vaccines and Covid.

He has promoted alternative treatments for the virus andmeasles. He’s claimed that millions of Americans were hypnotized into taking the shots and suggested that the vaccines cause a form of AIDS…….

Dr. Martin Kulldorff

Dr. Martin Kulldorff is a biostatistician and epidemiologist. He’s a founding member of the D.C.-based Academy for Science and Freedom at the nonsectarian Christian Hillsdale College.

The academy aims to “combat the recent and widespread abuses of individual and academic freedom made in the name of science” and “educate the American people about the “free exchange of scientific ideas and the proper relationship between freedom and science in the pursuit of truth.”….

“Bodily autonomy is not the only argument against Covid vaccine mandates. They are also unscientific and unethical,” wrote Kulldorff…..

On Thursday, Endpoints News reported that Kulldorff and Malone were paid hundreds of dollars an hour to be a part of cases challenging the safety and efficacy of drugmaker Merck’s HPV and MMR shots. Malone confirmed he had done “expert witness consultation.”……

Dr. Retsef Levi….

His pinned tweet claims that mRNA vaccines “cause serious harm including death, especially among young people.”

“We have to stop giving them immediately!” he urged.

“From what I’ve seen so far, I think it's obvious that these mRNA vaccines should not be given to anybody young or healthy. It is also not at all clear to me that they should be given to anybody, based on the evidence,” he said in a new interview.…..

Vicky Pebsworth

A registered nurse and a regional director for the National Association of Catholic Nurses, Vicky Pebsworth has been listed as a board member and volunteer director for the National Vaccine Information Center, a group previously described in The Washington Post as “the oldest anti-vaccine advocacy group” in the country.…..

How did we get supposedly reasonable GOP senators to confirm this anti-science, anti-vaccine evil person to head this vital agency?
