Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

I don't think the guy praising Trump is just whistling Dixie when he says he sees the election as an existential threat. I think he absolutely means it to his core and so do all of the cult devotees of Trump. This election has the potential to be the most violent election the country has seen in a long time. There are people who will violently protest the election if the person they support doesn't win the election be it Harris or Trump.

I just watched this Alex Wagner spot on black Trump supporter in PA and all I can say that they were the most ill-informed, ignant (that's right...ignant!) group of people.

Reading the comments below this segment that are just as hard on Wagner for not attempting to correct those clowns, but that not her job! She there to get their thoughts, not change them, its up to the opposition to educate and inform these people...Good Luck with that!

My common law brother in law (lol) is in finance and he said that the bond market has been moving steadily up lately and he thinks it’s because there’s concern that Trump is going to win and they all know his policies are inflationary.

Aren't US Treasury Bonds also bought by foreign nations and investors, or are they just limited to being purchased by US citizens and institutions?

Wait - local law enforcement is scouting out locations for the Trump campaign? This seems extremely wrong.
It sounds like Trump told them he wanted to go to McDonald's so they contacted McDonald's, which they would have to do for advanced security reasons.

The media is giving black Trump supporters way too much attention.

Latino backers of former President Donald Trump laid their hands on the ex-commander-in-chief and prayed for him as they showered him with religious gifts during a visit to Miamifor a roundtable discussion.

The moment came at the end of Trump’s event with Latino supporters on Tuesday when speakers surrounded the former president.

“God’s hand is on this man,” one pastor said, before praying for Trump to win the election. Attendees then made their way to the rope line and reached toward the former president in prayer.

“Today, Lord, we lift up the man that we believe you've put your hand upon to help restore America and bring America back to the place that honors you, to a place where we will not be kicked out for saying, Christ the King or Jesus is Lord,” one of the speakers said.……

How many were paid to do that?

TBF, Wagner is giving multiple groups a platform on her show tonight. She talked with Harris supporter groups the were black men and latino men and in those groups there were well informed community activist that took on correcting the ill informed. I think her trump supporter portion came off as bad as it did is because there was no one there to push back.

Because if you dare to push back you get death threats.

That seems backwards. Once Trump says he wants to do the gimmick, the campaign should contact the individual franchise they want to use, get consent, then law enforcement should see if they can arrange the security. The article made it sound like the first the restaurant heard about it was when law enforcement contacted them. It also said it was local law enforcement, not even Secret Service.

Still seems backwards, if the article is accurate, which may not be the case.

They are. But yields aren't rising thru demand. They do make bonds more attractive to purchase vs other investments ( and less exposure to ups and downs ).

But yields are related to economic factors and outlooks.

One reason why Chris LaCivita may have changed his mind about Donald Trump: working for him is very lucrative.

Last week, the Daily Beast reported that LaCivita has brought in tens of millions of dollars by working for the former president over just the last two years:

The co-manager of Donald Trump’s White House campaign has raked in $22 million and counting from the Republican nominee’s political operation in just two years, the Daily Beast has learned.
Chris LaCivita, an influential GOP operative, reaped a $19 million financial windfall in 2022 when he served as a “strategic consultant” to two Trump-affiliated super PACs, campaign finance records show. Then, after joining the Trump campaign, he negotiated three contracts that gave his tiny LLC a generous cut of Trump’s TV and digital ads, direct mail and other campaign spending. He also collected retainers that at times amounted to $75,000 a month, according to multiple sources familiar with the campaign’s finances and campaign finance records.
That has netted LaCivita’s consulting firm $3 million from the campaign, records show, and there are plans to award his firm nearly $5 million more by the time the election is over—including a $150,000 bonus if Trump wins, according to a source familiar with an informal and controversial “audit” ordered up by another campaign senior adviser, Corey Lewandowski. The campaign disputes the figure for the additional monies owed to LaCivita, but did not offer an alternative estimate.
By contrast, the campaign’s other co-manager, Susie Wiles, has been paid $685,000 from the campaign through her own consulting firm with monthly retainers that ranged between $25,000 and $30,000. Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, Kamala Harris’ campaign manager, is paid $13,442 a month, campaign finance records show.

It sounded like a focus group. There is zero pushback in those setting. Your purpose is to gather data, not inform.

Pretty much. She was on a mission to find out who these people were and why they support trump. I appreciate Alex shinning a light on these folks, I rather have them have their opportunity to explain themselves instead of being hidden in the dark. The only people that deserve backlash are those that sat down with Wagner and proved their own ignorance.

If Harris stomps Trump in this election, will anyone listen to Nate Silver again? The Hill is really pushing the Trump leading the election narrative. It could be my own bias, but i just don't see it. Harris isn't running a "the world owes me the presidency" campaign of Hilary Clinton and Trump's campaign is a rolling embarrassment with low energy.
