    Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

    She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

    I know it’s not trustworthy, but Trumps odds have been dropping dramatically.
    About a week and a half ago, he was about -140.

    They're not going to admit it but I sense that right about now the inner voice for some on the right is kicking in and saying "What. In. The fork." in regards to this level of energy that's basically come out of nowhere for Harris.

    It feels like she's going to win. That's just a gut feeling today as someone who was honestly like 'huh' on the VP pick until I actually heard him speak and then I fully understood... things might change, but I think she's genuinely got something here - this shortened campaign and all is, at least for now, some perfect storm of shirt that's catching.

    With the 2016 and 2020 elections having been so closely decided... It is absolutely possible given her fervent fan base and her reach that a Taylor Swift endorsement could make a difference.

    Seems inevitable given that Instagram post or whatever it was with the obvious Kamala shadow reference.
     
    Okay this NPR piece is eye-opening. Harris is on the upswing with nearly every group of voters. Harris is also making great inroads with white voters - mainly due to women.

    “Harris has also improved with white voters overall. Harris has gone from 40% with white voters overall to 46% in this survey, which is closer to where Biden was, and that’s very high for a Democrat. In fact, no Democrat has scored that high with white voters in a presidential election since Jimmy Carter in 1976. Biden got 41% in 2020, Barack Obama in 2008 won 43%.

    That improvement is mostly because of college-educated white women. White voters without degrees, a core Trump base group, are heavily in Trump’s favor and their margin is unchanged. Two-thirds of college-educated white women, though, are now in Harris’ camp, which would be far higher than the percentage that sided with Biden in 2020.”

    I wonder if the overturning of a 50 year old precedent protecting reproductive freedom, or the idea that a woman's fundamental value and reason for existing is being a baby-making machine, has anything to do with such a shift.

    They’ve finally got their wish.
    It’s sorta ironic that it really did open up the county’s eyes into how weird the Republican Party is.
