Yes because I give a crap about a downturn in the market. Look at the yoy or even better the 5 year. Everybody made money. Did people really expect there would never be a downturn? Really?

That is why the market is a long term play unless you are just having fun day trading or know what you are doing. Even those lose their arse now and again.

In other words, I might care in like 30 years. If I am living off my 401k then, I did it wrong now.

And besides, this is what happens when retirement is coupled to the stock market. Like you all wanted.

the more aggravating aspect is that many in the Trump world actually think that this is at the feet of Kamala Harris. ( or Biden for that matter )

Because they dont know enough basic information ( ie educated ) about how the market operates, and specific to today, what caused this "shock". It had NOTHING to do with policy. It was hedge funds and institutions, once again, trying to figure out how to game the system and maximize profit by borrowing cheap $$$, turning it into USD and investing it with expectation that they will do this for as LONG AS THEY CAN.

Sad part is that the losses they took, do not outweigh the gains they reaped over the last several months. Meanwhile the individual investor takes a hit because of this game.

But they will continue to paint this event as a "Biden/Harris policy type " issue, and it will resonate with the base, because at this point, that is really the only folks listening to their gobbledy gook.

With Biden as President that seemed like a reasonable hope for me.
Now I'm thinking the Ds might grab everything. Too soon of course to say.
I should should just tune out until after the first Harris Trump debate.
Once that has taken place that's when we might be able to gauge the mood of the country.

I think there will be more than just a few split down ballot votes. A lot of those Republicans saying they'll vote for Harris will still vote Republican in their state and local elections. So while a blue wave is possible, I certainly wouldn't count on it just yet.
