Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

That's an opinion, and not a very good one.
That they had indictments and were ready to go to trial is not an opinion. Or that they were bogged down in the courts. Takes time for a thorough investigation to bring charges. Yet that was accomplished. The courts bogged them down.

Your assessment of Garland is an opinion. Somewhat ill informed.

This is factual. It's also a fact that the DoJ waited 2 years to prosecute Trump.

My opinion unlike yours is based on facts, not feelings. I provided a article that went into the FBI delays in prosecuting Trump. If you want to have a real discussion on this topic. You would need to address pesky facts like Smith wasn't appointed until 3 days after Trump announced his re-election. It would do you some good to actual read the article.

Frankly, I provided all this information already to this discussion, and you don't seem to care.

This can be the end of this discussion. I've witnessed you arguing the law with a lawyer on this board. You clearly have a outsized, and over-estimation of your own abilities, and opinions.

Oh, gee, people who don't know me have ignorant opinions at times. I'll live.

I noticed a distinct lack of response to the factual information provided for you in the post you quoted. I would like to hear your thoughts on those facts.

The DOJ didn’t wait two years. It takes a great deal of time and effort to determine if there is a case and properly prepare the case and bring the indictment. Especially due to the unique circumstances. Garland did a proper job. But it is simply a grind with the courts. Wasn’t Garlands fault.

If only someone had linked you an article that highlighted why your opinion is wrong.

A Washington Post investigation found that more than a year would pass before prosecutors and FBI agents jointly embarked on a formal probe of actions directed from the White House to try to steal the election. Even then, the FBI stopped short of identifying the former president as a focus of that investigation.

“Feb. 9, 2022: The National Archives refers the matter to the Justice Department after a preliminary review finds the boxes contain numerous classified documents. The special agent in charge of the agency’s Office of the Inspector General writes, “Of most significant concern was that highly classified records were unfoldered, intermixed with other records” and otherwise improperly identified.”

So the DOJ wasn’t even involved until Feb 2022. Not Garlands Fault.

Maybe this will help you understand.

    Then again, maybe not.

Uhhhh...You guys are talking about different investigations here! Donk is pointing out the delays with the election investigation and you are talking about the stolen docs case while trying to prove him wrong about the election interference case.:freak7:

Sendai lets point out how dumb this makes you look.

Was there more then one federal case against Donald Trump?

    I swear to god.

It's like arguing with over confident toddlers.

We need a BOZO reaction emote.

Right. trump tried to overthrow the government with ragtag collection of folks, who were mostly unarmed, with zero plans for anything beyond possibly disrupting the proceedings in Congress, and democracy was threated!
Get real, dude, a far-right militia of crazy rednecks would have been far more effective and scary than what transpired.
Don't care about all your "ifs", that is merely speculation.
And like many of those obsessed with Trump, you seemingly mistake defense of Trump with some calls for some sanity regarding him.
I don’t care about your ifs either. Much like I don’t care about Republicans in the aggregate or singularly.

Any defense of Trump no matter by whomever is indefensible.

So, the election interference DOJ “official” investigation was started one year later, in 2022. And you can be sure the DOJ was actively involved in assisting the congressional investigation in 2021 which led to launching the DOJ investigation in early 2022 and the appointment of the special counsel. So he was there just not front and center. Given the unique circumstances he managed a thorough and proper process. The indictments were timely and proper. But, as is normal, the courts can impede.

All in all Garland did a fine job. Only a fool would blame AG Garland. And there are a great many fools that do just that. So you are not alone.

How so? How would that even work? What would be the point of the DoJ actively assisting the Legislative Branch with their independent investigation? Congress cannot not make criminal charges or prosecute them.
