She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

Similarly to Putin's ascent. The oligarchs who consolidated wealth and political power via Yeltsin thought a little known kgb officer could be the figure head that they can use and manipulate to continue their status. They believed they were invincible. Once elected, Putin gathered them. He then targeted a few. The media that were critical to him and had shows mocking Putin? Just like Orban, Putin used the levers of power, fines and restrictions, to pound anyone that dared defied him. He jailed them. Forced them to sign over their assets. Some died. Others fled. And some were hunted and poisoned in western countries that they thought would be safe haven. The new autocrats.

Trump isnt 45 years old and as cunning as Putin- also keep in mind where Putin came from( poor ) , what transpired to "create" the Putin we know today ( fall of Berlin wall) .

If we were talking about a 50-55 yr old Trump id say - oh maybe. Trump is 78, clearly in mental decline and doesnt carry the self-manufactured chip on his shoulder for the elites. He already, in his mind, is in that club. Putin was NEVER in that club and his disdain for them is what was used to consolidate his power OVER them.

But there are others, behind Trump, that DO have the age, the time and the desire to consolidate. Thats the folks im talking about. Those folks are pulling the levers. Trump wont turn on them akin to Putin and his oligarchs. He doesnt have the will to do. When it comes to that, Trump is weak and feeble. Hence the constant reminder of crowd size, what ive done etc etc. Its all a facade.

He may not live past next year. That doesn't mean he cannot impose retribution within that time. Our guard rails have bent more than im comfortable and more than a significant potion of our population have aspiration for authoritarianism. I don't think it's an exaggeration to fear his victory with him at the helm. The slippery path. Even for just a little bit.

And he's the thing about criming. You don't even have to be intelligent. The capacity to be cruel and lack of any shame can impose impossible fear among even the most righteous of people. With the vast power given to someone who has zero forks about anything will be simarly eery to putin's case.

And the reference to the gun barrels pointed at her face just illustrates how deeply troubled and psychotic he is. When you target someone’s face it shows a deep-seated, unbalanced hatred of an individual. Third - she’s not running for anything.

The thing they’re ignoring is that those are not new GOP voters, generally. So they are just moving when they vote from ED to early. Whereas people expect more Dems to go back to ED because they normally vote then but voted early or by mail in 2020 because of the pandemic. So it’s very misleading to put so much weight into early voting without considering that.

Also, the total population of Towns County is 12,000 some. Clayton county is close to 300k.

which will clear the lines for Nov 5- instead of folks waiting 5 hrs, it could be whittled down to 2 hrs, thus having more voters on Nov 5 show up at the polls.

My point is these rural areas will already be tapped out, and counted before election day. In 2020, all of these people waited to vote on Tuesday.

Edit to add: This is Georgia's numbers. Republicans are barely ahead right now despite having almost all of their rural vote counted in some super heavy Trump counties.

One of the most alarming portions about this article is how Hitler initially wanted to deport the Jews when he took office in 1933, but when he failed after 8 years, he approved the final solution in 1941 to start exterminating Jews on the territory they control. Trump will also have trouble deporting up to 20 million Hispanics, and he may propose some awful alternative. The article also referred to it as ethnic cleansing, which is an interesting description that I haven’t seen before, but it seems apt.

The article describes the economic disaster Trump and Musk will cause, so he will not make America great, which is apt, since Trump always lies about his beliefs.
