Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

When you produce some actual evidence that she had 160,000 women and the record amount of fundraising for someone who couldn't even win her own state and if I would continue to deny its true then it would be like the blue Anon.
I’ll take Zoom’s comments over anything the RW has to say about this. Heck, I’ll discount anything anyone from the right says about anything ever.

Yeah I can see why you would be excited for Harris after Biden.
Nah, Biden dead would still be better than a guy who is declining so much that he thinks Hannibal Lector is a real person. Heck, your cognitively impaired guy just chickened out on debating Harris. I guess the felon has enough marbles left to know he would get destroyed by Harris.

I would imagine his handlers convinced him it would be a bad idea. His impaired judgement might still override that decision. Would love to see him try and spew nothing but lies against somebody with a sharp mind and a prosecutor’s background. He might get so frustrated he says the quiet parts out loud in real time.

What you call the great replacement theory is the Democrats long term election strategy. Listen to Biden say it clearly.

Yet again, you demonstrate a distinct inability to understand simple concepts. You are making a giant, unsubstantiated leap from people talking about shifting demographics to "these people are admitting that they are replacing white people with non-white people in order to stay in power."

I do remember this cringy video, but I didn't realize they had child actors talking to Harris.

After a summer of tough headlines for Vice President Kamala Harris, her office drafted a carefully scripted plan to score positive coverage with the release of a video where she discussed space with kids.

The tentative plan: The “Today” show would broadcast the exclusive video. Jenna Bush Hager and Al Roker would announce future plans to interview the vice president about space. One of the kids who appeared with Harris in the video or a female astronaut could appear on a different morning show to draw attention to the YouTube special.

But after months of behind-the-scenes preparation and production, the rollout didn’t go as planned, according to emails recently obtained under the Freedom of Information Act. The vice president’s office is not subject to FOIA, so her aides’ communications with NASA surrounding the production and rollout of the space video offer an unusual glimpse into the inner workings of Harris’ office.

Days after the video’s release, Harris was at the center of a firestorm after reports surfaced that the child actors appeared alongside the vice president in the video. Conservatives like Fox News host Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump Jr. mocked Harris’ performance and criticized her for appearing with actors.

The controversy was noted by conservative publications as well as national news outlets like CNN and Newsweek. In Harris’ home state, the Los Angeles Times ran a story with the headline: “How Vice President Kamala Harris’ appearance on a kids’ YouTube special backfired.”

It came at a difficult time for Harris, who was already facing scrutiny after a series of stories that summer detailed reports of staff dysfunction within her office. By the fall, her office was seeking positive coverage about the video featuring Harris talking to kids about space, the emails show.

Enough of this BS yacking about an old video.

Let's all watch that two ot three years old video you brought up:

A man convicted of dozens of felonies versus a criminal prosecutor. An architect of abortion bans versus a champion of reproductive freedom.

An elderly white man fixated on the past versus a mixed-race daughter of immigrants leaning into the future.

One hundred days from the US presidential election, the choice for voters has never been so clear cut. Kamala Harris, 59, the de facto Democratic nominee after the dramatic withdrawal of Joe Biden, is a progressive person of colour bidding to become the first female president in America’s 248-year history.

Donald Trump, at 78 the oldest nominee in history, is a populist-nationalist who has demonised immigrants, gained backing from far-right extremists and tapped into white Christian nostalgia by promising to “make America great again”.

“In this moment, I believe we face a choice between two different visions for our nation, one focused on the future, the other focused on the past,” Harris told members of the historically Black sorority Zeta Phi Beta in Indianapolis on Wednesday. “And with your support, I am fighting for our nation’s future.”

Biden has previously spoken of a “battle for the soul of the nation” and Trump has described this election as “the final battle”.

But the nomination of Harris will be clarifying about the culmination of a tumultuous decade and a collision of two Americas: one liberal, diverse and optimistic, the other conservative, nativist and, in Trump’s telling, driven by grievance and vengeance.

Halifu Osumare, professor emerita in the department of African American and African studies at the University of California, Davis, said: “The difference between the candidates couldn’t be any starker. To me it represents this country and its schizophrenia. This country is both racist to its core yet the leader of the world in the rights of the individual and democracy.

“This election is going to play out that schizophrenia because you’ve got a good deal of the nation who wants to take us back to those days where white supremacy was absolutely dominant, and those who want us to evolve as a human species. We need somebody who has humanity at her core in order to do that.”

The road that led here began with the election of Barack Obama, America’s first Black president, in 2008. For millions of Americans, Obama represented hope; for millions of other Americans, he represented fear that the country they grew up in was disappearing.

Whereas white Christians made up 54% of the US population in 2008, they have now slipped into the minority and make up only 44%…….

What you call the great replacement theory is the Democrats long term election strategy. Listen to Biden say it clearly.

Are these are the voices that you really want to help perpetuate? Please look deeper into your sources. Hatred is learned. Spreading hatred in order to divide a citizenry only serves our enemies. And it costs them nothing to weaken us.
Displacement and Replacement: The Political History of David Duke, Patrick Buchanan, and Racial Resentment

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, David Duke and Patrick Buchanan drew on long-running discourses about White replacement and displacement in their political campaigns. Duke, former leader of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, used White displacement fears to earn elected office in the Louisiana state legislature. He then ran for governor, senator, and president, but was thwarted in these campaigns partly thanks to Black voters. Duke’s presidential ambitions were also undercut by the journalist and television personality Patrick Buchanan, who co-opted Duke’s message to seize his base.

You could go further back and follow the money from John Birch Society, as well.

Well I have to admit I listened to some of her speeches today. She is definitely a decent speaker and good with the teleprompter. Also no way I would ever vote for her. Her stance on guns the border and Israel are disgusting.
    Would you vote for Trump?

This looks pretty good for enthusiasm especially compared to Harris’s exaggerated enthusiasm.

He’s not winning Minnesota. That’s just ridiculous.

Do you not realize that there’s a ragtag bunch who follow Trump from rally to rally? They’re like the Deadheads. So he has a baked in part of his audience. They’re groupies. Then when he actually starts talking, the local people who came out of curiosity start heading for the exits. You can see it in any number of independent videos out there from people who went to their local rallies. Videos of long lines of people leaving while Trump is still talking onstage.

Quit peddling this nonsense. Nobody believes it outside of the cult. It’s a stupid lie meant to fool people who don’t know facts and truth.
With our declining birth rates, and young adults choosing not to be burdened by parenthood, we’ll be begging for immigrants. 🤔
