Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

So I follow some evangelicals on Twitter. Most of them are quite ready to ignore Trump’s pro-choice statements as a tactic to win the election. There are some anti-Trump evangelicals, and they are not surprised about his flip flop on abortion because they have always seen him as unprincipled. I do think he will lose a % of the evangelical vote, probably a small % maybe single digit sized. Every little bit helps though. They have been some of his strongest supporters.

The amount of cognitive dissonance required to make the leap to "he is just lying to win the election....he doesn't really believe that" is pretty frickin staggering.

So now, mentally, they are in a situation where when they agree with him it's all good and when they don't agree with him it's all good because he is lying and secretly agrees with me....lol. that is really just shocking. CHOOSING to be hoodwinked is something new I think. I hope someone somewhere is doing an academic study on this stuff.

Wow, I didn’t see this. Watch how Trump absolves himself of ALL responsibility for the actions of his own campaign, and then suggests the Arlington fiasco was actually a set-up by the Biden Administration. In reality, it was an attempted set-up by his campaign - they arranged a private wreath-laying and then slammed Biden and Harris for not showing up.

Donald Trump bizarrely claimed people don’t eat bacon anymore because of wind powerwhile taking questions at his latest campaign speech in Wisconsin.

The former president made the bold claim as an answer to a young rally-goer asking what his plan is, "to make life more affordable and bring down inflation for someone like me."

"It's probably the question I get most," Trump responded at first, eventually launching into what on critic denounced as a "word salad."

The GOP presidential nominee said, "You take a look at bacon and some of these products, and some people don't eat bacon anymore."

"And we are going to get the energy prices down," he continued.

When we get energy down – you know this was caused by their horrible energy. Wind – they want wind all over the place," he added.

"But when it doesn't blow we have a little problem," Trump added.………

Donald Trump has wildly claimed that “107 percent” of new jobs have been taken by illegal immigrants.

Trump made the baseless claim at a town hall event on Thursday night in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, after a woman in the crowd told him she was worried about illegal immigrants“taking away opportunities from Americans”.

The Republican presidential nominee responded: “It’s going to start with the Black population. African Americans are losing their jobs. And I don’t know if you heard the latest statistic, that of the jobs that these people created, which is very little, every single job was taken – about 107 percent – was taken by illegal immigrants.

“There’s been no job creation by them, the jobs were filled by illegal immigrants.”

His statistic – which does not make mathematical sense and was not backed up by any evidence – prompted the crowd to boo and jeer at the made-up figure and he was not scrutinized further by town hall host Tulsi Gabbard.……

……Donald Trump and his staff knew – and were reminded of – federal regulations specifically prohibiting the misconduct their campaign engaged in at Arlington’s section 60 this week.

But the law aside, only a gross lack of manners, decency and humility could incline a person to film a fundraising appeal over the resting places of dead men and women who cannot decline to participate in the coarse spectacle.

The photo of a grinning Trump giving a jaunty thumbs up over these patriots’ graves is an indelible image of narcissism risen to the point of sociopathy.

Worse is the allegation that two Trump staff members assaulted a small, middle-aged female Department of the Army employee who attempted to enforce the regulation and preserve the cemetery’s dignity.

The victim reportedly refrained from filing charges due to a reasonable fear of violence or harassment from Trump’s supporters. Meanwhile Trump’s campaign defamed this woman as mentally ill.

His running mate, JD Vance, said Kamala Harris could “go to hell” for her campaign’s suggestion that the unauthorized footage was intended for use as political footage – just before Trump used it for exactly that…….

So what do you want in a candidate? Just spit out that unicorn- then I’ll know how to talk to you.
There is no need to talk to me. Yet here is your answer....
I want a candidate who is dignified.
A candidate who is respected by our allies and feared by our enemies.
I want a candidate who favors a strong US Military.
I want a candidate who is a Christian.
I want a candidate who isn't going to legislate mandatory Electric Vehicles by some future target year.
I want candidate who professes that the life of the developing child in the womb is precious....the President I'd like to see would declare that strongly AND YET NOT push for that to become the law of the land. Everyone has to give an account to God when their life on earth is done. I don't want to impose my faith on others.
    I'd like a strong border.

You are, of course, free to live by whichever myths you choose, and under whatever restrictions and fears you wish to adopt for yourself, but I don’t believe in normalizing these claims anymore in discussions about governance and policy.

Today I need to find a few Youtube videos that portray Trump in a negative light. Before bed last night i said I'd take care of that.
Nothing you say or do has any impact on my happiness one way or another, so don't you worry yourself one little bit about my happiness, Steve.
Maybe I don't impact your happiness but I AM on your mind.
You are clearly a "Actions Speak Louder Than Words" type of person. So I will find negative Trump videos that reflect my dislike of Trump and I'll post them shortly.

I don’t see your problem with Harris from this list.

What makes a Christian, any Christian, superior to hold the office than a Jew, Muslim, Hindi or any other believer or non-believer?

I would like to see the so-called pro-life movement actually give a crap about babies after they are born.

It's called talking about things on a message board.

I'm not mad Biden isn't running anymore, but I will definitely call out the party that constantly lectures the public about how they are the protectors of democracy.

Using your logic, you don't think Trump is an actual threat. You are just trying to scare people into not voting for him. Do you see how silly it is to think that you know what someone else is thinking on a message board?

What law did the DNC break?
What Constitutional right was violated or attempted to be violated by the DNC?

I'm still trying to figure out if you actually believe what you're saying, b/c it just isn't rooted in law or even common sense, or if this is just an attempt to muddy the waters.

First I'm not a Democrat, so I don't have a ton of vested interest in the inner workings of a private organization. I have become more anti-Republican over the years, and I more closely align with the Democrats on policies, although far from completely, so I do vote for them on the national stage more frequently over the last 8-10 years. But as an independent American citizen, I do not have any Constitutional or moral rights to who or how the Democrats choose their candidate. There are laws that govern how a party behave, etc, but I have seen no evidence that a law was broken.

And none of that touches the actual process of how American citizens vote for president. There were no baseless accusations of the American election systems being rigged or flawed, no attacks on the actual elction process.

Contrast that with Trump who spent months lying about the elections being rigged (but everytime he went to court, as is his right, his lawyers admitted they don't have evidence of fraud). He was directly trying to undermine the faith in the American election system, when he knew for a fact that there was not a problem. He, or at least his surrogates, broke the law setting up fake electors. He pressured Georgia's secretary of state to find him more votes. He suggested that Mike Pence overturn the election results. All of that suggests that Trump believes that American voters don't get to choose the president - he does.

There is no comparison, and it's stupid to believe they are even remotely similar. Stupid and dishonest.

it is the Christians are better people logic. have seen this so much and it has been proven false so much. we have seen how untrue it is with republicans now.

    Trump is a bully....

    *

    *
Trump was so very wrong re. his treatment of his own VP on Jan 6th

    *
    *
Listen, this is just the tip of the iceberg, but I have to focus on other things...especially my family trip in a few hours from now.
I hope you found this post to be genuine @LA - L.A. ...because it IS genuine as to why I dislike DJT.
