Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

Do you actually believe this? You really seem to be all over the place. Harris has been on the national stage for 8 years now, and has done plenty of solo interviews and has announced policy positions both before running for President and after. For those that care about policy, we already have a general sense of her positions and policies, and we can expect them to have some movement depending on circumstances and political realities.

So, yes, I do find it interesting. She's trying to win an election - she's only had about a month as the actual candidate and not the vice president. Trump is not well liked at all. People were worried about Biden's age. Her goal will be to show she's not an butt crevasse like Trump, and look more presidential, and to be younger than Biden.

I don't understand your protector of democracy comment. None of that is contrary to American rule of law.
Some people don't seem to understand that there's two parts to a policy. There's the goal of a policy and then the logistical approach of achieving that goal. Any reasonable person will change their logistical approach when it's not achieving the desired goal. That's not flip-flopping, that's adapting and adjusting.

Adapt or perish, something Republicans seem oblivious to for decades and no one is more oblivious to it than Trump, as well as all of his minions.

And today just gets better. I heard that the Senate Armed Services Committee will be investigating Trump’s misuse of Arlington National Cemetery for campaign purposes. No concrete source yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see that happen. Mike Johnson is also apparently involved, along with several other GOP politicians also in attendance.

By not following the rules he agreed to and having his campaign staff get physical with a woman attendant, he made fools of all of them.

This could gain traction. Maybe another one could be a printout of the meme where Trump is making fun of women who give blow jobs, encouraging republican women to stop giving blow jobs. I mean if the top republican ridicules women who give blow jobs, then surely republican men don't want blow jobs, right?
    Lysistrata 2024.

This is what I mean by the spaghetti approach... SFL isn't mad that Biden isn't running any more because he believe his rights were violated that he is no longer able to vote for the candidate he really wants (even though he can still write Biden in if he really believes in him that much). The goal here is to try to make Democrats mad so they won't vote for Harris... it's political posturing.

It's also wasted energy here, since I don't think there are any undecideds left on this board.
At this point, I think it's more about reinforcing one's own delusions and denial than it is about trying to influence anyone else. It's become a lot more like spiraling and a lot less like propagandizing.

I'm actually glad the left is highlighting this story because it brings more lift to the horrible Afghanistan withdrawal.

Only the willfully ignorant or the dishonest are making the Afghanistan withdrawal a partisan issue. The Doha Accords was an agreement by the United States under the leadership of trump! Regardless of who the POTUS was at the time of its signing, The United States was still bound to that agreement, otherwise, why would any Nation...ANYONE enter any agreement that would only be binding to the individual that brokered the deal?

As for the accord itself, it called for US troop reduction to 8600 but trump ordered a reduction to just 2500 troops after he lost the election because of...reasons.

    1. The United States will reduce the number of U.S. military forces in Afghanistan to 8,600 and implement other commitments in the U.S.-Taliban agreement within 135 days of the announcement of this joint declaration and the U.S.-Taliban agreement, and will work with its allies and the Coalition to reduce proportionally the number of Coalition forces in Afghanistan over an equivalent period, subject to the Taliban’s fulfillment of its commitments under the U.S.-Taliban agreement.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. military has met its goal of reducing the number of troops in Afghanistan to about 2,500 by Friday, a drawdown that may have violated a last-minute congressional prohibition.

The reduction could complicate matters for the incoming Biden administration, which must determine how to handle a Trump administration commitment to the Taliban to remove all U.S. military, intelligence and contractor personnel from Afghanistan by May as a move to spur peace negotiations. Those talks are in an early stage.
Although senior military officials had cautioned against speedy troop reductions in Afghanistan, Miller announced on Nov. 17 that he was implementing Trump’s order. As a result, military commanders scrambled to pull more than 1,500 troops out of the country in the last few weeks. At Trump’s order, commanders also cut U.S. troop levels in Iraq to 2,500 from about 3,000 in the same period. Miller confirmed Friday that the Iraq drawdown had been completed.

The Afghanistan decision was seen by some as unnecessarily complicating the decision-making of the incoming administration. Trump at the time had refused to acknowledge that he had lost the election and would be ceding to Biden on Jan. 20. Some in Congress, including fellow Republicans, opposed Trump’s decision.
The trap was laid by trump leaving Biden with no options but to complete the full withdrawal in Aug '21 because they did not have the forces in place to combat any hostilities they may have faced!

I know I just wasted time pointing these facts out to you, but I needed to set the record straight for the others that may not be aware of these facts.

RCP, which is a right-leaning aggregator, now projects Harris as the winner. I know they hate it, lol.

Donald Trump’s campaign insists that they’re pursuing multiple strategies against Kamala Harris, but the true picture that is emerging is that the Trump senior advisers’ grand plan, for now, is to pray that the former US president has a good night at the presidential debate next month.

The game plan, in other words, has become one of hoping that Trump wins the debate so they can regain momentum – a stunning approach that shows the serious predicament for Trump and his campaign as he struggles to find ways to land effective attacks against the vice-president just months before the election.

What has happened internally in the Trump campaign in recent weeks is the realization that nothing they do in the period up to the debate is likely to cut through in a significant way that blunts Harris’s gains that have her level in key swing state polls, according to people close to the matter.

And because they don’t think the messaging will cut through, senior advisers are left hoping that Trump can energize voters with his performance on stage, the people said.……

Trump's advisors are desperately hoping they can get Trump to be normal and intelligible during the debate. If they manage to get Trump to be that way, Harris will still out debate Trump. We all know Trump will not be able to be normal or intelligible which means Harris will out debate Trump.

I really hope the microphones are not muted, so that all of America can hear the unhinged comments that Trump will be spitting at Harris while she's speaking. Anyone who's ever done a lot of formal debates, public speaking or standup comedy knows how hard it is to concentrate and stay focused on what you are saying when some jackhole is constantly heckling you.

The only way Trump looks better than Harris during the debate is if Trump's microphone is muted while Harris is speaking. That's why Trump's advisors desperately want Trump's microphone muted. If Trump's microphone is muted, there are two things we are most likely going to see. The most likely thing we will see is Harris struggling to concentrate on what she's saying during her allotted time, but without hearing Trump's heckling as the cause of her struggles. It will make her look bad. The other thing we might see is Harris confronting Trump during her allotted time for heckling her, but again it will seem to come from nowhere because we won't have heard Trump heckling her.

Trump's microphone should never be muted, because that will just let Trump get away with his disruptive outbursts without being seen or held accountable in the eyes of the audience.l

I agree 100% but she is desperately trying to distance herself from the failed policies she voted in. This should tell you everything you need to know about this woman. She will say whatever it takes to get more power. Luckily, she is not a bright person so the more she talks, the more people see is actually a simpleton.
OH' I don't see it as such. Right wing evaluation always says ir is as such. It isn't so, so I ignore it. What's been good for 60 years is alright with me.

I see the memo went out to claim me posting about something means I'm stressed, triggered, losing it, etc. Yawn.

I guess that means yall are very worried about Vance since yall post about him often. Is that how it works?
No, that's not how it works at all. You fail to see the difference in what you do from those you disagree with. You keep spamming the board with the same lies from the same liars over and over. That's what sets what you're doing apart from the other people you disagree with.

Imagine being upset about me calling Walz her support animal when you can't even say Trump's name and you only call him criminal. Why so hypocritical?
An animal is not human. A criminal is human. I get it that you don't understand the difference so you mistakenly see it as hypocrisy.

It's called talking about things on a message board.

I'm not mad Biden isn't running anymore, but I will definitely call out the party that constantly lectures the public about how they are the protectors of democracy.

Using your logic, you don't think Trump is an actual threat. You are just trying to scare people into not voting for him. Do you see how silly it is to think that you know what someone else is thinking on a message board?

So this is remarkable....tracking newly registered voters.

If you watch the video, pay close attention to the last 1 min. ( Kansas abortion vote...pro choice won by 18% and 70% of new voters were women)

Which I think the Trump team are now having to grapple with...

Lol @SaintForLife derided Harris for "adopting no tax on tips" like Trump.

Now? Trump is tossing evangelicals to the side to now try to appeal to women en masse.

Hmmm flip flop on taxes on tips vs abortion, which one is bigger?
