Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

Yeah, the 2023 bill that they wouldn’t even compromise on with absolutely no support from Dems. The 2024 bill had support from both sides until Trump said don’t do it because it will improve the situation.
The Democrats had no interest in the bill because it would actually address some border problems. They don't want the border secured as evidenced by the record number of illegals that have come into the country under Biden.

The 2024 bill only had support from establishment Republicans. The establishment Republicans don't want the border secured. They want the cheap labor.

Just going to focus on the "embarrassing (s)lap in the face" from the Democrats that weren't there, while claiming to be non-partisan. Doesn't add up at all.
I am not non partisan. And yes I made a typo…. I am a Republican and a conservative that doesn’t always vote Republican.

Lack of knowledge on my part. I felt as the VP she maybe should have been there but was unaware that she was meeting with him tomorrow.
Would you be willing to share where you heard of her not being there and if it was characterized as a “slap in the face” to Israel? Or maybe you came to that conclusion on your own?

No - I am unwilling to get into a pissing contest with you because you feel the need to pick apart pre-canned policy differences with no intent on taking nuance into account... I realize you feel the need to put me in a box that makes you more comfortable... I know what you want to hear so you can rant on like you probably normally do in partisan discussions about politics... sorry I don't participate in that game. You know what she said and did... You know what's too far one way or the other... I'm not your huckleberry sir/madam.
I really want to know what you consider far left. That is all. If you don’t have context, how can you have any kind of reasonable discussion. If my wife thinks 100 dollars is a lot of money for a pair of shoes and I think 50 is a lot, how can we discuss what a reasonable price of shoes would be.
You call her far left without identifying any of her policies or items you think are far left. Bernie is more left than Kamala, but Far left comes out as extreme.

Hey Semper! Say "Fox News"... MT definitely wants to hear you say "Fox News".... LMAO

Who is this Scott Jennings, and why would I care what he thinks?
He's a CNN commentator and you don't have to care what he thinks. Look back at Biden's announcement when he picked Harris. Biden literally referenced DEI.

And the republicans just want to close the borders and not allow anyone end. Compromise is how DC works. They didn’t want to pass the bill, they wanted to state they passed it so they could campaign about it. Just like all of the impeachment attempts on Obama. When they finally had the votes to impeach Obama, guess what, they stopped. Get out of here with that bull. Our government is based on compromise and when we do that, great things can happen, but if your goal is to point out how the other one is wrong and shoe horn your legislation through, then it is to score political points.

“They are in favor of Racism, but must pretend that they never use Racism to make decisions.”
Corrected that quote for the MAGA peeps.

Yeah - that's fine... I think you already know the answer to the question you are asking... and are only looking for another circular argument. If that's not the case... my bad. And I simply don't have the time to type that all out right now. But if you need an example of what I consider too far left... then this pair of shoes right here is too far left...

If this doesn't drown your unquenchable thirst for a box to put me in... I got nothing for ya.

My phrase. I read it on Twitter.

For me it's anyone with enough power, money, or influence (or combination) to outweigh or tip the scales in one direction or another for a candidate... and by doing so gains a measure of control or influence or favor from said candidate.

    ok got it.

    the Republican candidate for POTUS.

Thats what is so crazy to me- folks will toss around "oh but the ELITES...", especially Repubs, and yet support that VERY SAME PERSON as their candidate for office.

its mind-blowing. And the ONLY explanation at this point, is tribal. Thats it.

She also talked about dealing with what's happening at the border. The Democrats know this is a toxic issue for them.

I believe you honestly don't see yourself as partisan, but as I read through your posts you come across to me somewhat partisan in favor of Republicans against Democrats. The Republican Party, as a party, has been conquered by Trump and christofascists and most of its members have gleefully embraced Trump and christofascism.

I never have and never will be a member of any party, but for this election I'm united with Democrats, because I staunchly oppose Trump and anyone who supports Trump, aids Trump, excuses Trump, gives any benefit to Trump, justifies Trump, and/or normalizes Trump in any way, regardless of if they do it intentionally or not. I'm fully aware of that choice I've made and am out in the open about it,.

It’s just as toxic for the GOP. They refused to pass the best border bill in decades because the former president told them not to, nobody had any objections to it before Trump killed it. He bragged about killing it -and he even said it was because he wanted to campaign on it. So all your posturing that the bill wasn’t any good is just servile nonsense. It’s like people running around trying to convince people that the Emporer does too have clothes on. Nobody buys it. Keep spamming about it though. Maybe on the 20th post about it you will convince someone.

Folk are just desperate to try to find something embarrassing about Harris. People in the comments were just acting like buttholes about this.

People: think about how a black woman could be descended from a slave owner. This isn’t the gotcha that MAGA seems to think it is.

I find it hilarious that people would call her (or the overwhelming majority of US Democrats) anything other than center-left.

I'll mean, if she's hard left, what the heck would you call someone who believes in common ownership of the means of production?
Her positions from when she ran for President don't sound center-left.

I said that in my first post in this thread I believe. I didn’t vote for him last time. I want a President that unites people. I am sick of how people can’t even have a civil conversation without it coming to my side vs their side.

I lost a close friend a couple years ago. I was laying in a hospital bed for a month. This friend kept calling and messaging me to not let them give me drugs. That they were killing me. That I should be on Ivermectin and not what the hospital was giving me. That I should support Trump because blah blah blah. When I got out of the hospital alive after the crap I went through he told me he couldn’t be friends with someone who wouldn’t listen to reason. We have not spoken since.

Sadly, our election system mathematically guarantees two (and only two) sides. What's changed is that instead of arguing over what percentage of taxes should go here or there, or what our policy should be toward nation X, now the stakes are your life if you're a woman or an unarmed black man, or your full citizenship if you're gay, trans or highly tanned.

People with their backs against the wall tend to come out swinging and they're not super keen on compromise.

People on a Mission From God also tend to think they're in a war of Good vs Evil and they have zero room for compromise.

    And so here we are.
