OPB sent DHS an extensive list of questions about Pettibone’s arrest including: What is the legal justification for making arrests away from federal property? What is the legal justification for searching people who are not participating in criminal activity? Why are federal officers using civilian vehicles and taking people away in them? Are the arrests federal officers make legal under the constitution? If so, how?

After 7 p.m. Thursday, a DHS spokesperson responded, on background, that they could confirm Wolf was in Portland during the day. The spokesperson didn’t acknowledge the remaining questions.

I am self employed and have already set my affairs with my attorney so I don’t have to worry about a job. My lawyer told me that for the crimes I could be charged with I could spend time in federal prison. I am ok with that in this instance.

I think you need to consider the risk reward for if you're totally wrong about what they used.

I'm not up on the chemistry, but there are various crowd dispersal agents out there. Wouldn't a modern blister agent be much worse? Just asking.

They spent the whole weekend trying to get someone to listen. The original plans had always been, when the MERCs fire gas canisters they were batted back or thrown back.

now the plan is they take a road cone set it over the incendiary and pour water in it to keep tha canisters as evidence. This started last night. So far the only weird thing is that they are expired - which explains the HCl but not the arsenic.

I am not going to talk anymore about plans because people are super paranoid here. So much that our plan has been postponed at least for now.

Lewisite was used primarily to disable equipment and artillery not necessarily to hurt soldiers.

the army would fire a projectile with a pressure switch. It would open about 20yards over the ground and diaperse the lewisite onto whatever was below. It is very hard to get off so once it was on a piece of equipment, you couldn’t use it without tremendous pain.

but you can dilute it with water and make it leas active. In fact it’s olfactory level is the. above its action level. Meaning you will experience it before you smell it when mixed with water.

I really hope you are right. It’s just that there are increasing reports of people getting severely ill which tear gas doesn’t do. 30 minutes out ofthe cloud and you are experiencing no symptoms. I saw my wife convulsing and throwing up for close to 4 hours. She developed blisters on her forearms 12 hours later which is a lewisite or adamite signature.

ETA- to counter one of your points about doubting they would use illegal gas - I never thought I would have Blackwater and the feds occupying the city I live in either, but here we are.

I know it is dangerous and probably misguided. However, if the MERCs are using agent on citizens, then that information being public is more important than my wellbeing or my personal beliefs.

honestly, this isn’t what I want to do at all. I just don’t know if any way to get this information in any other way. Any other method is explained away ; or if they know that they are being suspected, they will dispose of it and no one will ever know for sure.

again, this isn’t pepper balls or shock grenades that they may be using. This is chemical warfare agent; one of the reasons that we went into Iraq over- on suspicion of him having blister and nerve agent and having used it on the Kurds. Assad used it in Syria. These are the despots that we will be equal to.

I am not a violent person. I don’t own a gun and never have. I can count on one hand how many times I have even fired one. But if a group of Mercenaries are using chemical agent, I am willing to put myself in harms way. Because if they are doing this now, we are in real trouble in a few months when a transition is supposed to take place. There is no army to save us. They are the enemy right now.

But they are not. If they were the media is aching for a story and would tell it. And with that many agents one would leak. You are making things worse with that. May I ask, what is it that the citizens of portland are asking? I cannot find any coherent solution offered to end this. And if they leave will the courthouse burn? If so they are never going to leave. So why can't you stop attacking the federal bldg. specifically, just to show it for what it is? You are being used man, for a photo that running 24/7 on fox news. If you are engaging and physical with them it makes Trump look correct. Is it police reform, what are the protests about in the first place?

Not knocking the OP at all. Portland kicked this whole thing off but it's grown exponentially since then with videos, stories, et al. (though many were with local law enforcement since the feds haven't arrived yet, but they're using the feds playbook for sure.) coming in from across the country and there isn't another thread covering the topic of local law enforcement acting just like the feds. It's been a very good thread, and should continue to be.

The building was vandalized in the days after Mr Floyd was murdered in cold blood. There were then 50 days of peaceful protest with little or no damage TO ANYTHING.

But because our mayor allowed the protestors to stay in the square exercising their rights- mind you i was working my job going about trying to protect my family from Covid at this point NOT trying to be part of the revolution so you can save the I am puppet nonsense- our Despot in Chief sent Blackwater and federal agents to our city. Now it’s a daily war zone between my family and neighbors and forking Blackwater.

Over 90% of the City of Portland, the Mayor, the City Council via Resolution, the Governor and the state attorney general ALL WANT THEM GONE. We want to handle this ourselves the way we were- through peaceful protest and our City Council sitting down with group leaders to work on it.
