Let the record show that at 5:37PM EST, I concluded my final conference call of the day and at that same time, poured my first glass of wine.

I have to bring my son to the hospital for a COVID test at 720 EST. So nothing here until after I get back from that appointment.

I brought earbuds for me for this reason. Luckily early voting was in and out.
No early voting in MS. Because of course there isn’t.
I hope at least you brought something to sit on instead of standing on your feet the whole time
Nope. Only one elderly lady here with a chair. The line is moving. It’s just super long. We’ve been in line for 1:05 so far.

I can't help but feel like we're missing something. Maybe it's a wayward gut feeling, but I just get this sense that Trump voters are still being discounted and underrepresented. I guess we'll see.

Well, there's a built in assumption on how the Independent vote is going to break based on polling, and it also assumes that there's slightly more Republicans voting for Biden than Democrats voting for Trump. So, it's not exactly a sure thing, which is why I said to take it with a huge grain of salt. But I'm taking it as a hopeful sign.

I have my bourbon ready, and if Florida goes Biden early tonight, I'm going to break out the celebratory ice cream and then go to bed.

Otherwise, I'll just go to bed and wait for the Pennsylvania aftermath which I don't expect to be final until later this week.

    What? Yowza.

Check out the thread of Fox poll results I posted a few posts back. 72% favor government health care, 71% support upholding Roe v. Wade, 72% concerned about climate change, 78% support requiring people to wear masks, etc. etc. It's amazing that the GOP is still able to "compete" to the extent they do in a modern society (though we know how).

Man, this entire thread of Fox News national voter opinion polls is filled with results that are going to anger Fox viewers. The GOP supports almost none of the majority positions.

This actually doesn't surprise me at all. Fox has posted and shown polls like this before. Then usually their pundits sort of dance around them and pretend that either people do support them or try to explain it away. But the reality is that even a lot of Republicans/conservatives support these positions. But, they want the policies to come from their "side".

Arizona has 22k ballots that lack a delivery scan and PA over 11k.

Thank God I live in a state where commonsense rules, California for all its faults is still leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the country

The first polls will close with Kentucky and Indiana. Trump won both those in 2016.

    KY:
    Trump 62.5% 1.2M
    Hill 32.7% 629k

    IN:
    Trump 56.5% 1.56M
    Hill 37.5% 1.03M

These aren’t great bell weather states but could be good for seeing if the difference between R and D shrinks.
